00:00Around 8 30 last night, Milton Hurricane Milton made landfall near
00:05Siesta Key in Sarasota County. It moved quickly across central florida
00:10overnight, producing significant flooding and damaging winds near its
00:13path. The storm did bring much destruction and damage. Tornadoes
00:19ravaged parts of the east coast of the state. Flooding occurred on the west
00:22and east coast and strong winds lashed the state, especially in Pinellas,
00:27Hillsborough, Manatee and Sarasota counties. We had over 80,000 people
00:33that were into shelters overnight as the storm hit the state. We will
00:39better understand the extent of the damage as the day progresses on. You
00:45have people that are out there assessing damage right now. First
00:48responders have been working all through the night to help people who
00:52were in distress. And what we can say is the storm was significant. But
00:57thankfully, this was not the worst case scenario. I couldn't even sleep
01:01for a full two hours. I woke up like every 30 minutes, but I'm just glad
01:06we're out and to safety and to where we can charge up our phones because I
01:10don't have any power because of my family is probably wondering where I'm
01:14at. The funny thing is, is we thought the storm was over. When you looked
01:17at the radar, the backside, we knew we were kind of in the eye, but we
01:21thought the worst was over because there was nothing really radar wise on
01:25the backside. And the second half was the worst. That's where our walls were
01:31flexing on our house. We didn't know how we were gonna do. I think when
01:35you're from Florida, you don't expect that it's gonna be as bad. You know
01:39what I mean? We've been through 100. Well, not hundreds, but we've been
01:42through a bunch of them, and they've never been this bad. So you kind of
01:46think it's gonna be the same.
