00:00Hello, this is the orientation video for a documentary about Lost.
00:13In this documentary, we will be examining the legacy of the show, its impact on the
00:19television landscape, and a community of fans that were brought together to attempt to solve
00:23the mysteries of the island.
00:26Lost is so much more than a television show.
00:28Lost changed my life.
00:30We all looked around and said, they're spending a lot of money, so this better work.
00:34When you went out on that beach and saw that airplane, it made you a little nauseous.
00:40It was real.
00:41Everyone was like, this is wild.
00:44It happened so quickly, there wasn't time to plan out what Lost would be.
00:49Don't know what the hell it is, but it's going to be good, I think.
00:54I thought it was going to get canceled from the moment that we did the pilot.
00:58There are people who come up to me and say like, hey man, love the show, hated the finale.
01:02Love the show, but the ending sucked.
01:04How many times have I heard that?
01:06I felt like the passionate dissension about the Lost ending was good, because it meant
01:11that everybody cared.
01:12I mean, what do we talk about?
01:14We talk about things we love or things we hate.
01:16We don't care about the gray.
01:19I think that's the only place to start.
01:21The story of Lost is really a story of its fandom.
01:26You were suspicious and you were dead the whole time from the get-go.
01:29If you were like, I'm a Lost fan, people were like, oh, you like that dumb show?
01:33I don't take it lightly, but it meant a lot to a lot of people.
01:36See you in another life, brother.
01:46We have to go back.
