01:26Newsham Park Hospital is one of the spookiest places in the city
01:30and now Newsham Scream Park has made it even more chilling.
01:33It's quite a spooky building in its own right.
01:36It's built in the Gothic style by Alfred Waterhouse.
01:38He was a Liverpool-born architect.
01:40He also did Liverpool University, Manchester Town Hall.
01:45The thing about the Gothic style is that it is a spooky style.
01:48It's full of pointy bits and creepy arches and things.
01:51Atmosphere are one of Europe's biggest skirt attraction companies
01:54and have designed each blood-curdling experience.
01:58Further, new additions for 2024 include the Horror Selfie Museum,
02:02new street entertainment, food courts, stage acts and live music,
02:05plus tarot readers, mystic fortune tellers and more.
02:08Steeped in folklore, the Victorian Grade II listed building certainly has a chill about it
02:13whether you believe in the paranormal or not.
02:16The building itself is intrinsically spooky.
02:20Just being here without any sort of actors or the things you'd expect from a scare attraction
02:25is scary enough.
02:27We've just spent an hour walking around the building
02:29and there's been plenty of places where the temperature's dropped.
02:32Things have been, shadows have been seen in the corner,
02:34noises have been heard echoing around the halls.
02:37It's a very atmospheric place, so it's the ideal place to have something like
02:41you should scream park.
02:43The event, which runs until Saturday 2nd October,
02:45is back with four new scare experiences
02:48which will wind through the building's claustrophobic corridors
02:51and dilapidated dormitories.
02:53This Halloween season, previously hidden parts of the building
02:56will be used for the first time.
