00:00Thank you so much for your time. I love your ring. You could do some real damage with that, couldn't you?
00:04Yes, yes, if I needed to. But I'd rather use it as a tool. It's a very elegant tool for tonight.
00:10Welcome to London. This film has been so well-received around the world already.
00:14How are you expecting English-language-speaking audiences to react to this beautiful story?
00:19To allow themselves to feel subtitles are not your enemy.
00:24And I feel that sometimes when we use words like foreign before we describe something,
00:31it gives us a permission to remain unattached.
00:37And I like to use terms like domestic films and international films
00:42because we all like to believe that we're global citizens and there's a little bit of internationality in all of us.
00:48So by doing that, you're able to destigmatize this whole pressure that we put ourselves
00:56when we're watching films in other languages. I hope that makes sense.
00:59I was reading about how you'd said that playing in this role and being able to sing and dance on camera
01:04has kind of rejuvenated your love of doing those things again.
01:07Does this mean it's going to spark some more roles? Are you going to seek out some more musical roles perhaps?
01:11I don't know. I mean, it all depends on the material.
01:14Like Jacques has always said throughout the interviews, and I like to stick to that.
01:18At the end of the day, what drives me into being a part of a project, besides amazing filmmakers and a cast,
01:25it's primarily the material.
01:28So however form it comes in, if it's good material and it speaks to my heart and my instinct,
01:34I'm always going to take that giant leap.
01:36Congratulations on your Cannes Award as well that the four of you shared.
01:40Did it feel like a cultural moment, a game-changing moment in terms of the award industry, do you think?
01:45A cultural moment in terms of what?
01:47With the four of you sharing an award usually only won by one person,
01:51the fact that Carla was involved in winning a female award as well,
01:54did it feel like a game-changing moment?
01:56I mean, what do you think? It's an absolute game-changing moment.
02:01I mean, if we go all the way and we finish this sort of season of whatever this is called,
02:09we can very well make history.
02:12And to know that I've been a part of it once again,
02:15it means that I'm adding more to a legacy of what I want to leave to my children.
02:21Congratulations again, and thank you so much for your time.
02:22Thank you so much.
