00:00Fans still don't know what the mysterious asterisk in the Thunderbolts asterisk title
00:04means.
00:05Everyone here has done bad things here.
00:07Someone wants us gone apart from.
00:09Proving that Marvel knows how to get fans talking what could be the real, meaning behind
00:13the asterisks in.
00:14Thunderbolts investigate what this asterisk means and how Thunderbolts sets up Phase 6
00:19of the MCU.
00:20For starters, it's likely that the Thunderbolts weren't supposed to be a real team in the
00:24first place in the trailer.
00:26That's why Eleanor John-Walker Ghost, Taskmaster and Bob find themselves caught in a deathtrap
00:30before finally taking things out and escaping in different ways indeed.
00:34It's entirely possible that WAL's long-running recruitment drive is actually an enterment
00:39operation and rather than a team the Thunderbolts could initially be a hit list composed of
00:44operatives who know too much about the government's black O.P.S.
00:47But since they all managed to escape WAL's trap she could instead convince them that
00:52it was a test.
00:53This actually also lines up with the next big theory about the Thunderbolts' asterisk.
00:57Things are about to get weird when they do we're not going to Captain America.
01:01In the comics Norman Osborn uses his authority as the director of Hammer 2.
01:06Found the Dark Avengers a team of villains dressed up and marketed as Avengers along
01:10with superheroes that Osborn had tricked into cooperation in.
01:14Osborn's place WAL could form the Dark Avengers from the Thunderbolts meanwhile.
01:18Instead of the Iron Patriot from the comics Red Guardian or John Walker could be the
01:22Captain America counterpart and just as Bullseye becomes a fake Hawkeye in Dark Avengers Taskmaster
01:28could do the same in Thunderbolts however what truly solidifies the Dark Avengers theory
01:33is the presence of Bob also known as Sentry the most powerful member of Osborn's alternate
01:38evil Avengers on the other.
01:40And even if this does happen in Thunderbolts this next theory makes an even stronger case
01:44for what the asterisk really means.
01:47Avengers following the dissolution of the Dark Avengers in the comics Steve Rogers reformed
01:52the team on his own terms the result is caps personal cover team for carrying out surgical
01:57strikes aimed at undoing Osborn's corrupt influence apart from the fact that several
02:01Thunderbolts members became secret Avengers in the comics this theory actually connects
02:06to Captain America Brave New World combined with Sam Wilson's experience in a covert Avengers
02:11group back in Phase 3 Brave New World could convince the new Captain America that the
02:16world needs the secret Avengers after all most of the Thunderbolts aren't exactly villains
02:21and are more of anti-heroes who are also more than likely to follow orders from Bucky and
02:26Sam instead of Wal what else do you think the asterisk could mean for the future of
02:30the Thunderbolts thank you for watching Screen Rant and stay tuned for more MCU news.
