A mum-of-two has said she always dresses up and sets the table ready for when her husband comes home, as it makes her feel good.

00:00My husband is going to be home from work in 30 minutes, and I would never ever let him see me
00:03looking like this. When I was growing up, every Sunday my mum would have gorgeous dresses on,
00:07she'd have her makeup done, the dinner would be cooking, the house would smell like fresh bread,
00:11and then I became a mum and a wife. And I would spend Sundays sitting around in pyjamas with
00:15holes in, the dinner would be like a takeaway, everything would be a mess, I was not put
00:20together, I was not the wife and mother I wanted to be. And I realised I was creating my children's
00:25childhood memories and my husband's experience of having a wife, and I wasn't giving them the
00:29experience that I wanted to give them. So now I make much more of an effort, I always make sure
00:34the ambiance is right, my husband walks in and a roast dinner fills his nostrils. I always wear a
00:39pretty dress, I actually got this one on TikTok shop, I love how it fits. We spent the morning
00:44down at the allotment, me and my children, we were covered in mud, we got into the bath, I put on
00:48pyjamas. Now in the old days I'd have stayed in those pyjamas until the evening, but I realise I
00:53am literally creating people's experiences on earth, especially as a mother you carry a lot
00:57of responsibility. I don't want them to remember me sat around in pyjamas, I want them to remember...
01:03Anyway, you do you, but this is what I want to do and I'm really enjoying it.
01:07Our marriage was destined to fail, we were not meant to be together, so come along with us as
01:12we celebrate eight years of marriage. I always keep it real online, you know a lot of the ins
01:17and outs of my life, and that's because I truly hate the thought of putting content out into the
01:21world that makes other people feel bad about themselves, especially when people are only
01:25showing the good, but the way that that content makes other people feel is not based on reality.
01:30The truth is no marriage is perfect, ours is far from perfect, but the one thing that has never
01:35wavered is our undying love for each other, if you've got that you will make it through anything.
01:40We've battled through years of infertility, very difficult visa applications, long distance
01:45relationships, my rapid weight gain, him having to move 4,000 miles away from home, and actually
01:50having two very different personalities. Perfect marriage is not when two perfect people come
01:55together, it's when an imperfect couple chooses to enjoy their differences. I feel loved and adored every single day.
