00:00Even just walking in and seeing you was a moment where immediately I was like, oh my
00:10God, my community, my family.
00:13People my age are in a lot of pain and really scared.
00:19We don't always know how to ask for the tenderness that we need.
00:22A lot of people like assume that, you know, because we are this age, we have nothing to
00:27offer.
00:28We refuse to be invisible.
00:30How dare we stand on your shoulders and only look up?
00:32How dare we?
00:33If we want to see genuine community work be done, we must begin supporting in and investing
00:38youth directed activism work.
00:40And that's what we've been doing.
00:41So when you, when you are confronted with something and you know in your heart that
00:45you have to fight back and some old fart tells you that that won't work, just don't f***
00:50off and do it anyway.
00:52I've ascended from gender.
00:53I can play with my fashion.
00:55And that's like so powerful to me.
00:59Thank you for having this conversation with me.
01:01Well, thank you.
01:03It's very nice to meet you and hear your story.
01:06And that's what I think is important about us connecting is hearing each other's story.
01:12There's folks in the younger generations to kind of want to erase lesbians and that's
01:17painful.
01:18Yes.
01:19And what I want to hold is a both and.
01:21I've been thinking about connection, not perfection.
01:24Yeah.
01:25And coalition building, not identity politics.
01:27The thing is that us seniors, we started it, y'all youngins, y'all finish it.
