00:00Once the bricks are solidified, now we have to join them.
00:03We need a cement substance, that is the Quran.
00:06This is what you will join.
00:09Therefore, this is what Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hind,
00:12Maulana Mahmood Hassan Deobandi, the prisoner of Malta,
00:16after being released from his captivity,
00:21when he returned, he addressed a large group of scholars in Deoband and said,
00:27Maulana Mufti Muhammad Shafi, may Allah have mercy on him,
00:31he himself was present there,
00:33Maulana Hussain Ahmed Badli, may Allah have mercy on him,
00:36Maulana Shabbir Ahmed Usmani, may Allah have mercy on him,
00:39Maulana Ashraf Ali Thani, may Allah have mercy on him,
00:42Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri, may Allah have mercy on him,
00:44a large group of scholars,
00:46and said, Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hind,
00:48as much as I thought about my four years of captivity,
00:53I came across two reasons for my captivity.
00:58Maulana Mufti Shafi writes in his book, Wahdat-e-Ummat,
01:02he says that a large group of scholars,
01:05Sheikh-ul-Shuyukh, Ustad-ul-Ulema,
01:08at the end of their lives,
01:11what new lesson have they learnt?
01:14I came to know of two reasons for this.
01:17One is to leave the Quran.
01:21And the other is our differences.
01:24Hence, I have decided that
01:27I will focus on two things for the rest of my life.
01:31One is to open the schools of reading the Quran.
01:36And through the public lecture of the Quran,
01:39through the message of the Quran,
01:41and through the wisdom of the Quran,
01:43to make people aware.
01:45Sheikh-ul-Hind is using the word public lecture of the Quran,
01:48which I consider to be the great innovation of the 14th century.
01:51And number two is to leave the differences between us.
01:55After quoting this incident,
01:57Mufti Muhammad Shafi writes that
01:59the two things said by Sheikh-ul-Hind are actually the same.
02:04Our mutual differences are also because
02:08we have left the Quran.
02:11Tell me, how did Sheikh-ul-Hind leave the Quran?
02:15How did Maulana Madani leave the Quran?
02:18What is the meaning of leaving the Quran?
02:20The situation is that Maulana Madani, may Allah have mercy on him,
02:23although he was not arrested,
02:25he went along voluntarily to serve his Sheikh.
02:29And to this extent, his loyalty and his service,
02:36when the month of Ramadan came,
02:40Sheikh-ul-Hind said with envy that
02:43this will be the first Ramadan in his life
02:46that he will not be able to listen to the Quran in Taraweeh.
02:49Because neither Sheikh-ul-Hind nor Maulana Madani were Hafiz.
02:53And there was another one with him.
02:56I am forgetting his name.
02:59He was from the Pathans of Sarhat.
03:02He was not a Hafiz.
03:05Now you think about it.
03:07Maulana Madani used to recite Taraweeh every night
03:11in order to get rid of this desire of his Sheikh and Ustaz.
03:18Every night.
03:21And this is not a strange thing.
03:23When he has been in love with the Quran all his life,
03:26he is in his right mind,
03:28now he just has to link them.
03:30What else is there between them?
03:32What is the real meaning of leaving the Quran?
03:35Actually, listen to another great scholar of religion.
03:39Maulana Syed Anwar Shah Kashmiri Rehmatullah Ali.
03:42He came from Deoband and established a Madrasa in Dabhel near you.
03:46He used to hold a Jalsa in Qadian every year
03:51for the rejection of Qadianism.
03:54So for a year, the scholars were gathered there.
03:57Now the one who has narrated this incident,
03:59his name is not in my mind right now.
04:01When I came to Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri Rehmatullah Ali in the morning,
04:06I saw that he was in a state of grief.
04:09He was very sad and depressed.
04:12I asked him, what is the matter? Is there any special reason?
04:16He said, what is the reason?
04:19I am thinking that I have wasted my life.
04:23He said, you have wasted your life?
04:27You have wasted your life?
04:29You have wasted your knowledge?
04:31Is this the time to waste your knowledge, Anwar Shah Kashmiri?
04:34Just like Imam was not wasting his knowledge.
04:37He was a muhaddith and a faqih.
04:39Both of them are different from today.
04:42You have spent your whole life in teaching and learning.
04:47So how can you waste your life?
04:49He said, I have put all my efforts on this.
04:52To prove that Shafi'i's opinion is not right,
04:56but my opinion is right.
04:58This is the reason for arguments,
05:00this is the reason for debates,
05:01this is the reason for long debates.
05:03We have had long sessions in Madrasas.
05:07However, in the eyes of Allah,
05:09this will not be a question to us.
05:11Misguidance is spreading and we are busy in these debates.
05:15However, it can be said that
05:18the words of our companions are good,
05:20but they are full of wrong.
05:22And the words of others are wrong,
05:25but they are full of good.
05:27Moreover, we can say that
05:29the words of our companions are right,
05:32although there is a possibility that they are wrong.
05:35We cannot say that there is no possibility that they are wrong.
05:38They were not innocent.
05:40And the words of those who are in front of us,
05:43who are equal to us,
05:44and they are Shafi'i.
05:46The real clash was between the jurisprudence of Hanafi
05:49and the jurisprudence of Shafi'i.
05:51We can only say that their words are wrong.
05:55Although there is a possibility that they are right.
05:59We cannot say anything other than this.
06:01And we have dedicated our whole life to this.
06:07But I cannot say how much I am saddened by this,
06:12that the Mujadid-e-Waqt, Sheikh-ul-Hind,
06:16and the Bahaqi-e-Waqt,
06:18Maulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri,
06:21have not been accepted by their students.
06:26They are the same.
06:28They are the same jurisprudence.
06:30When I started the Khilafat in Pakistan,
06:33I narrated some hadiths.
06:35Good scholars said,
06:37Doctor, we heard these hadiths from you for the first time.
06:40These hadiths are in the book of Malahim,
06:45Ashrat-us-Saah,
06:46Alamat-ul-Qiyamah,
06:48Kitab-ul-Fitr,
06:49and these hadiths,
06:51we are exhausted.
06:54All our discussions are over,
06:56and the time is over,
06:58in those jurisprudential discussions.
07:00We don't even reach this point.
07:04In any case,
07:06the second point, as I said,
07:08First, strengthen the bricks.
07:11O you who have believed, fear Allah.
07:13He has spoken the truth.
07:14You will not die except as Muslims.
07:16And secondly,
07:18use the Quran as a cement substance.
07:36You had reached the brink of destruction.
07:39You wanted to fall.
07:41Allah has saved you from it.
07:47In this way, Allah is clarifying His verses for you.
07:52So that you can attain guidance.
