00:00I know that amongst a lot of the scenes, you're actually sharing the screen with your director.
00:05How was the experience of having Jesse in a scene with you but also directing with you?
00:09Does it make it easier? Harder? How is it?
00:11It was completely seamless. I never really, almost was not aware of it in a way.
00:17I think it was very clear from the script what the tone was, what he was trying to say.
00:24He's very in tune with people's feelings and needs and very precise in his direction.
00:31Always felt looked after, always felt like he had a plan and a confidence in what he was doing.
00:38So when I think back to it, I feel like there's a scene where he has to do a lot of heavy lifting on the acting side
00:45and was also handling a 12 set up day whilst doing a one and a half page speech himself.
00:52And I remember feeling like, wow, respect.
00:55He was really nailing that side in front of the camera
00:58and also handling the kind of invisible stress of everything else at the same time.
01:02So yeah, it was a pleasure.
01:04To heap further praise on Jesse, it seems to the film really walk a fine line between comedy and severity, doesn't it?
01:10But it seems like it really nailed that tone.
01:12Is that all in the script or was it something which you guys had to find as actors to make sure you do it respectfully?
01:18I think it was in the script, but I feel like he also obviously cultivated an atmosphere where we all felt safe in that tone
01:26and in that vibe, I suppose, or the spirit in which the film was made.
01:31And obviously, we're travelling around, learning things, visiting these cities in real life.
01:37So there was a slight kind of mirroring.
01:39But I think that also was in the script, is the simplest answer.
01:44But I think he also cultivated an atmosphere in which we could lean into that.
