00:00Two Chinese nationals were arrested after a different mode of theft.

00:05One of them was caught by their victim's accomplice.

00:09Isaiah Mirafuentes is back with his exclusive report.

00:15These two Chinese nationals were arrested by the police

00:19after their mode of theft was seen.

00:23Alia Zeng and Alia Shuang were arrested for theft

00:29and one of them was raped.

00:32Their last victim was a Chinese woman.

00:36Based on the investigation, the suspects and victims met online.

00:42The victim and one of the suspects met in a hotel in Pasay City

00:48to exchange their Chinese Yuan currency

00:52to become Philippine Pesos.

00:55It was estimated that more than Php 150,000 would be exchanged by the victim.

01:01But when she arrived at the hotel, it seemed like she was raped.

01:06When she was at the door, they pulled her inside.

01:09According to her, they shot her,

01:14kidnapped her and put her in a room where she was buried.

01:18Aside from the two arrested,

01:20there were two more Chinese men who kept looking for the police.

01:25The female suspect was the informant and talked to the victim online.

01:31It's possible that the thief was the main motive for the crime

01:34and Alia Zeng was only raped.

01:36That's why she was the victim's accomplice.

01:39I tried to get the statement of the two suspects

01:42but the Chinese man refused.

01:44While one of the suspects didn't speak English or Tagalog.

01:54It's obvious from the investigation that the male Chinese suspect

01:58was previously imprisoned but he used a different name.

02:03He looks like one of our investigators.

02:06He looks like a Chinese national. He looks familiar.

02:13The suspects continued to investigate in different ways.

02:16They didn't ignore the possibility that he was a member of a big syndicate

02:21that operates in the country.

02:23Now, we are verifying with immigration

02:29if there are other cases that our arrested suspects are facing.

02:37Just like our at-large suspects.

02:40I went to the hotel where the crime took place

02:43but we didn't talk to their official.

02:46But according to the employees, most of the prisoners are Chinese.

02:52To our fellow countrymen and to our foreign nationals

02:55who are here in our country for vacation or work,

02:59let's make sure that our transactions are legit.

03:04The two Chinese arrested are facing a robbery case.

03:08While there are additional rape cases,

03:11the suspect in this case is a victim.
