00:00Hello, welcome to your national weather update.
00:02A dry and a bright day today for many.
00:04There is quite a lot of cloud around.
00:07Some places staying fairly gloomy.
00:08And where it does stay fairly glum,
00:10it's going to be on the chilly side.
00:12But high pressure is continuing to dominate,
00:14sitting right across the UK.
00:16So most places seeing light winds.
00:18Just a bit of a breeze off the North Sea,
00:19continuing to feed a lot of cloud
00:22into parts of eastern England.
00:23So East Anglia into the Midlands, Northeast England.
00:26Here, it will stay predominantly gray.
00:28And quite a lot of cloud across northern Scotland.
00:30One or two showers are possible across the Northern Isles.
00:33But for most, it's dry.
00:34Sunshine fairly hazy.
00:36But where we do see some hazy sunshine,
00:39temperatures lifting up in the south.
00:4016, 17, feeling pretty pleasant.
00:42But as I said, where it stays cloudy,
00:44feeling very chilly with parts of eastern England
00:46only 10 or 11 degrees Celsius.
00:49Through this evening and overnight,
00:51we'll generally keep dry conditions
00:53under that area of high pressure.
00:54I think we'll see the cloud tending
00:56to melt away in many areas.
00:58But the southeast could see quite a bit of cloud.
01:00Even the possibility of a shower here.
01:02Continued risk of a shower over the far north of Scotland.
01:05And we'll keep a lot of cloud again over eastern England.
01:07But generally elsewhere, clear skies, light winds,
01:10another cold night.
01:12So again, in the countryside, the risk
01:14of a touch of frost, particularly
01:16for Northern Ireland, Northern England, Southern Scotland.
01:18Some rural spots could be as low as minus 2 or minus 3.
01:21Towns and cities well down into single figures.
01:24So another fresh start on Friday morning.
01:28Another fairly cloudy day over parts of eastern England.
01:31Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, but increasing cloud
01:34probably across the southeast of England as well.
01:37Generally, it will stay dry.
01:39And we will see some sunny spells over northern England,
01:42Wales, southwest England, Northern Ireland too.
01:44Some sunshine over western Scotland.
01:46But eastern Scotland, we'll see quite a lot of cloud bubbling
01:48up and the risk here of one or two showers
01:51as we go through the day.
01:52But they'll be very hit and miss.
01:53Most places will again stay dry.
01:55And in the sunshine in western Scotland, 17, maybe 18 degrees,
01:59generally 15, 16.
02:01Probably feeling a bit warmer if it brightens up
02:03over Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
02:04But it's dangling in the southeast
02:06if it does stay quite grey.
02:07Again, on the chilly side with a bit of a breeze coming in
02:11and temperatures only 12 or 13 degrees Celsius.
02:13Again, the small chance of a shower or two here
02:16during the afternoon into the evening
02:18and continued risk of the odd shower over eastern Scotland.
02:21But most places staying dry as we head through Friday night.
02:24Again, clear skies will lead to it turning quite cold.
02:27But something is lurking behind me.
02:30Signs of a change.
02:32High pressure holding on for most on Saturday.
02:35Certainly for England and Wales, a dry and a fine day.
02:37But these weather fronts will be working in,
02:40bringing some rain to Scotland and Northern Ireland late
02:42on Saturday and then bringing cloud and some showers
02:45as we go through Sunday and still one or two showers
02:48around for Bank Holiday Monday.
02:50So a bit of a mixed picture as we go into the weekend.
02:52Still a lot of dry and bright weather.
02:54But there will be a lot of cloud and a few scattered showers
02:57around.

02:59be available by the time we get to Thursday afternoon.
