00:00Hello, good evening. Thursday will be a much drier day for most areas, particularly in
00:05the north-east where we've seen some pretty persistent rain. It's been quite a miserable
00:09few days up here. That rain's going to still persist through this evening as that pulls
00:13in the colder northerly air as well, still have that cold feel through this evening.
00:18Further south, though, we'll see bands of rain push in from the south-west. These will
00:22be heavy at first, particularly across south-western areas, but as they push further north the
00:26rain should ease, but I think most areas will see at least some outbreaks of rain throughout
00:30the course of the night. Plenty of cloud around, though, so it should be another fairly mild
00:35start to the day away from the far north-west. This band of rain across the south-west will
00:40push into parts of southern Wales. The Midlands into the south-east could bring some travel
00:44disruption first thing, but once it does clear out the way, there's going to be much more
00:48in the way of drier weather, particularly, as I said, across this north-eastern area.
00:52It's still going to be a largely cloudy day, but the winds will be a little bit lighter.
00:56It's still a northerly wind, still a cold direction, but it's lighter than it has been
01:00lately, so it'll be feeling that much milder. In the south, we'll see a mix of sunshine
01:04and showers developing. There'll be a decent amount of sunny breaks, though, and in that
01:09sunshine it will feel fairly pleasant, highs of 15 or 16 degrees. By the end of the day,
01:14though, once again in the south-west, we see the next batch of rain arriving. That will
01:18push north through the course of Thursday night. That could bring some quite gusty spells
01:23of rain, especially up through Irish sea coasts. So, many areas are going to see outbreaks
01:27of rain by Friday morning. As that rain pushes north into Scotland, bumping into that cold
01:32air, it'll likely fall as snow above around 400 metres over the Highlands and Grampians.
01:37The winds are also going to pick up, but behind that area of rain, the temperatures also pick
01:43up quite considerably. So, we'll be starting the day across many areas of England and Wales
01:47at about 11, possibly 12 degrees, so a very mild start to the day, and the temperatures
01:52will only increase as the day goes on and into the weekend as well. So, through Friday,
01:56it's going to be quite a wet day for many north-western areas. However, further south,
02:01for much of England and Wales, it'll actually turn much drier through the day. Yes, it will
02:04be quite a breezy day, but there's going to be some decent sunshine, particularly across
02:08the south-east, and it's going to feel very warm in that sunshine for the time of year,
02:12highs of 17, 18, possibly 19 degrees on Friday. As I said, those temperatures only pick up
02:19even further as we head into the weekend, but we do see a deep area of low pressure
02:24develop to the south-west. Those bring strengthening winds too. So, it's going to be an unseasonably
02:29windy weekend, but also a mild one. We could see 20 degrees for the first time this year
02:34so far. Bye bye.
