00:06You get to go back in time to tell an origin story

00:09of this character that the world is in love with.

00:12We meet him at a very difficult time

00:14where he's trying to come to terms with

00:17who he is without his family.

00:19Gibbs, he's given a second chance

00:21when my character, Mike Franks,

00:23gives him an opportunity to join NIS.

00:26Hi, this is Marie. I'm your commanding officer.

00:29Yes, sir.

00:30Gear up.

00:31Where's my gear?

00:33When I first got the call that I was gonna be Gibbs,

00:36I had to cut my hair, I had to shave my beard.

00:39Training for this character has involved

00:41everything from physical to mental.

00:43We've gone through weapons training.

00:47We go where the evidence takes us, you hear me?

00:49We get to meet characters that we know,

00:52but who they were before.

00:54You're getting to meet them at the beginning of their careers.

01:25and we're really happy with this cast.

01:28NCIS Origins, taking place in the 90s,

01:31is probably one of the best things about the show.

01:34Oh, man, it's nostalgic.

01:35When you look around the set,

01:36you've got the typewriters and punched-out phones.

01:40You're looking at people figuring out puzzles

01:42without the use of technology.

01:47It's not often that you get to walk into a show

01:49with such a massive legacy.

01:51The fan base is something

01:52that I've never quite experienced before.

02:01I'm in love with this character.

02:02Gibbs has made me want to be a better person.
