New Audi R8 V10 Decennium (RARE!) 2020. and an R8 world record!

00:00Hi guys, how are you all doing? So today I'm at an Audi event, it's the world's biggest
00:04gathering of Audi R8s and of course I've come in the new 911. Yes, Matt wants the kind of
00:12guy to show up at an Audi R8 event in a rival car. Anyway, let's go take a look at some
00:17of the cars. Hopefully we're going to get them out on circuit and be able to count them
00:20all up to see how many there are. There's lots of different R8s to see. Here they are
00:26all lined up. It's the classic red Mark 1 V10. Another V10 over there. And this one
00:35here in the optional kind of madness paint that Audi called it. I've not seen an R8 looking
00:43like this before. Now I've found three really interesting cars here. They're brand new and
00:47they're all limited edition. So let me talk you through them. So let's start with this
00:51red car. It's the Audi Performance Part Special Edition. There's only five of these in the
00:56UK and this car cost about £170,000 and it's got some upgrades over the normal car. I should
01:01point out that it's also the Mark 2.1, so it's the pre-facelifted version, but it has
01:08like an extra aero kit on it there. You can see at the front in carbon fibre. It's got
01:12milled forged alloy wheels, super lightweight for less unsprung mass. Down the side you
01:17can see the Audi sport side skirts there, which are bespoke to the car. And interestingly
01:24around the back, you can see even more aero, huge rear wing, massive diffuser as well.
01:30Combined, this aero package gives you a hundred kilograms of downforce. It's quite an impressive
01:37car this. And it's got a unique sports exhaust. Another thing worth mentioning is the fact
01:42that it's got adjustable race suspension as well. So you can actually adjust it manually
01:46depending on how you want it set up at the track. Let's move on to the other cars. So
01:50these are the Decennium versions of the Mark 2.2, so the brand new facelifted car. So there's
01:56only 10 of these in the country. They're about £175,000 if you want one of these and they're
02:01fully loaded with kit and they will be a collector's item eventually. Looking very nice in this
02:06kind of matte grey, which obviously is a paint scheme you can get with the car. Carbon fibre
02:11side blades as well, of course. Nice alloy wheels in a kind of like goldie colour. Good
02:18looking car this. And if you look at the intake plenums, they are a goldie colour as well
02:25to match those alloy wheels. What a sweet set of cars. We've got a couple of cars here
02:30with kind of a strange matte chrome-y wrap on them. I think it's a wrap, not paint.
02:43I like the purpley one, it's interesting. Both of them are V10s.
02:50And they've got big ass wings on them as well.
02:53Here's a classic, a V8, an early V8. Nice car that.
03:09All the cars heading out now onto the track to form up in a line so we can count how many
03:15there are here, see if they set a Guinness World Record.
03:53And here comes the very last one.
04:08OK, so here are all the cars lined up and start finish straight
04:12off Goodwood Motor Circuit. Let's just zoom in and have a look.
04:15It's like a traffic jam of R8s, it's insane.
04:24So here we are then in front of the line of R8s, let's take a walk through them.
04:29I've never done anything like this before, it's quite unusual. Pretty cool as well.
04:39Not sure about those wheels, hope you didn't hear me.
04:42This is fun.
04:50I found a colour that I really, really like. I've never seen it before, it's a
04:53bronze colour and the owners spec this very well because look at the matching interior.
05:00It's lovely.
05:03Now bronze and gold like old man colours, but this just works, especially with the black wheels.
05:12So they've been having a bit of a competition and judging which cars are the best R8s out of this
05:19big gaggle of R8s and this one came third.
05:24Question is though, what came ahead of it? So here's a second place car.
05:30It's a V10 Mk2 in black, great condition, love these wheels.
05:36And not one of them are curved and these are the kind of wheels that are easy to curve as well.
05:42So,
05:46nice grey interior, works, works with the black.
05:50This is the first place car, it's a V8. It's a very clean looking car, it looks nice as well,
05:55doesn't it, with the white and the contrasting carbon fibre side blade, lovely diamond cut alloy
05:59wheels. Look at this, like a Rolls Royce, so the Audi logo is always the right way up whenever
06:04you're driving it. Apparently the guy who owns this made that himself.
06:12Oh gosh, we're getting told to get off the track, I'm gonna have to do this quickly.
06:17I'm just gonna ignore him, gonna ignore him, gonna ignore him, just gonna kind of
06:21whiz through it. I'm determined to get this done for you. I'm gonna get shouted at,
06:27but this is too cool an opportunity to miss. It's worth getting into trouble for.
06:33Right, almost there. I will not quit until I reach the end. So apparently over 100 R8s
06:40came to this meet, so it has set the world record.
06:45Wow, this is pretty good fun. A trip through what is like a sea of R8s.
06:55Ah, there we go, I made it, made it, almost drowned in R8s. I'm gonna finish on an RS7,
07:01because why not? Now I should point out that there aren't actually 100 cars here,
07:07about 40 have left, but earlier today there was 102, and so they got the world record,
07:13and you can probably hear them clapping now to celebrate. Hope you enjoyed this.
