00:00Mr. Speaker, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a
00:05woman in Donegal D. Should that become a murder investigation she will be the
00:12fifth woman murdered in Northern Ireland in six weeks. The Justice Minister was
00:18unavailable to come to the house yesterday and address members on this
00:22very issue. Mr. Speaker have you had any indication that she plans to make a
00:28statement today? There's a need for leadership and to reassure women and
00:33girls that this executive and particularly the Department for Justice
00:38is listening and will respond to those concerns quickly. I know the Minister has
00:43addressed meetings by video message in recent days but can you indicate whether
00:49you have been informed if the Minister is available today or when the Minister
00:54plans to offer reassurance in person to women and girls here in Northern Ireland?
01:00I have no knowledge of what the Minister's functions are at the moment.
01:07It would be a matter for the Minister to explain to the House or indeed the
01:12Justice Department and I would direct the Member towards that place to seek
01:19the answers she's looking for.
