A mum spent three weeks learning Spanish to be able to greet her daughter’s boyfriend.

Lynéa, who didn't wish to reveal her last name, met Jorge, her Spanish boyfriend, while on a work trip in Spain back in 2022.

The pair hit it off straight away and Jorge travelled to Miami, Florida, a few months later to visit Lynea and meet her mum Michelle.

Michelle, who only knew basic Spanish words like “Hola,” was determined to make a memorable first impression.

Lynéa, a recruiter from Miami, said: “My mom doesn’t know any Spanish except some basic words but she really wanted to say something to him in his language.
