00:00How do you feel about the criminal justice system in the UK? Back in the summer, in the
00:07wake of the Southport mass stabbings, riots broke out all over the country. Back then,
00:11YouGov found only one in five Britons believed courts and police were sufficiently resourced
00:16to deal with the widespread unrest. At the time, the Prime Minister promised swift justice
00:20be served to those responsible. More than 300 people have been convicted for offences
00:24in connection with the riots and disorder. But it's not hard to see why the public were
00:28doubtful. As the summer drew to a close, we saw the introduction of the Early Release
00:32Scheme, a government stopgap measure to help ease the pressure on our overburdened prison
00:37system. Around 5,500 prisoners have and will be released after serving 40% of their sentence
00:44rather than 50% in September and October alone. So, over to you. How does the current state
