00:10We ask Allah عزوجل teach us what benefit us, benefit us from what He taught us and increase us in knowledge.
00:16My dear, beloved, respected brothers and sisters, I ask Allah عزوجل to protect you from any harm.
00:22الحمد لله رب العالمين now we are or we have taken few steps and learned about few tools that will ان شاء الله تعالى make us improve our salah and reach khushu'a بإذن الله.
00:47We try to have our heart present, we are trying to understand what we are saying, we introduce the feeling of raja'a, of hope, we introduce the feeling of fear, of hayba and yesterday we spoke about the feeling of love.
01:01The feeling of love, the love of Allah عزوجل and I am standing before the one I love the most.
01:08So someone might say, ya shaykh alhamdulillah I have all these and I tried them yesterday in my salah but I still get distracted, I still get distracted a lot.
01:17The minute I say Allahu Akbar, I start thinking about the food, the drink, I start thinking about work, about the children, I start thinking about my problems, where did I put my keys, where did I put my phone, my computer, my studies, my homework, my exams.
01:34Every thought comes to my mind when I say Allahu Akbar.
01:39As a matter of fact, Imam Abu Hanifa, alhamdulillah, one time a man came to him and he was very sad, the man.
01:45He said, ya imam I put all my savings somewhere and I completely forgot where I put them, can you help me?
01:51So the imam was surprised, what does that have to do with me?
01:54I answered questions about fiqh, but I don't know where would you put your money, but I advised him anyway.
02:00He said, go and get up in the middle of the night and pray two rak'ah and after you finish your salah, beg Allah عزوجل, this is the best time to ask Allah, ask Allah to help you find your money.
02:09So the man went and the next day he came with a big smile on his face.
02:13So Imam Abu Hanifa told him, what happened?
02:15He said, alhamdulillah shazakallah khair ya imam, I found the money.
02:19He said, what did you do?
02:21He said, I took my advice, in the middle of the night I got up, Allahu Akbar, the minute I said Allahu Akbar, I remembered where I put the money.
02:28I left the salah and I went and picked up the money, subhanallah.
02:31So Imam Abu Hanifa said, I knew that the shaytan would not let you perform such a noble ibadah, he's going to remind you where you put the money.
02:39So this happens to all of us, we get distracted.
02:42But what could encourage me to cut down this distraction?
02:47It is by knowing that we only get rewarded for what we concentrate.
02:53We will only get rewarded for the part that we concentrated on, subhanallah.
02:59Now, does that mean that is my salah invalid if I get distracted?
03:03No, it is not invalid.
03:05But Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said,
03:21Subhanallah.
03:22He said, a servant may pray and only be credited for one tenth, or one ninth, or one eighth, or one seventh, or one sixth of the salah, or one fifth, or one fourth, or one third, or half of the salah.
03:35Subhanallah.
03:36So, we will only be, or the credit we get from the salah is for the part that we concentrated on.
03:44What is the dalil?
03:45Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, and the hadith is in Abu Dawood,
03:47لَيْسَ لِلْمَرْءِ مِنْ صَلَاةِهِ إِلَّا مَا عَقِلَ مِنْهَا
03:52A man is rewarded only for the part of his salah of which he was conscious, the part he was concentrating on.
04:00That is the only part.
04:02So, when I know that this is the only part that counted in my salah, I will try as much as I can to cut down the distractions.
04:09Because the minute I get distractions, the recording will stop.
04:13And when I come back, the recording will start again.
04:15Subhanallah.
04:17But I don't want that to distract you.
04:19You might say to yourself, it has been a while that I've been distracted.
04:26Does that mean all my salawat are not accepted?
04:29Only Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala knows.
04:31But somebody might say, you know what, why should I pray then?
04:35Because I'm always distracted.
04:37No, no, no, no, no.
04:39Not praying is a major sin.
04:41Getting distracted, maybe it will decrease the reward of the salawat.
04:47But not praying, not praying is a major sin.
04:52Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala warned us in the Quran about the people who do not pray.
04:58In Surah Al-Muddathir, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, he said,
05:01ما سَلَكَكُمْ فِي سَقَرٍ قَالُوا لَمْ لَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ
05:06What led you to this place called Sakar, subhanallah?
05:09He said, we used to not pray.
05:11We used to not perform the salawat.
05:13So, don't let that thought come to your mind because the shaytan comes and tells you,
05:17oh, you're always distracted, that means you're wasting your time with that salawat.
05:20No, no, no.
05:21We will pray and we will struggle as much as we can to concentrate.
05:27Just like somebody who is walking in the desert, right?
05:30And the sand is extremely hot, and he's wearing his sandals,
05:34and all of a sudden one of the sandals broke.
05:37One of his sandals broke.
05:40So, would he say that, you know what, خلاص, let me throw the other sandal away,
05:44and I'm going to die anyway?
05:46No, he would try to fix it, he would try to manage as much as he can.
05:49So, similarly, we try as much as we can to fix our salawat and try to concentrate.
05:54Now, we come to the key that I promised you for the past two sessions.
06:02This is the secret key that when we use Inshallah Ta'ala,
06:08the whole salawat will completely improve, if we use it properly.
06:15If we use this key properly, you're going to notice that the salawat has definitely changed,
06:21has improved, subhanallah.
06:23What is that key?
06:24Before we mention this key, let's ask a question.
06:34What time do you think of the year usually you have the most khushu'a?
06:40Ramadan, right?
06:41And what is the best or the most time you have khushu'a in Ramadan?
06:46And that is when you are performing qiyam.
06:50And what is the most time in qiyam you have khushu'a?
06:55It's when the imam is making dua, right?
06:59This is where you have khushu'a, this is where we hear so many people crying,
07:03this is where the tears start flowing, subhanallah.
07:06And what we are doing right there is that we are using the key, we are using the secret key.
07:15What is the secret key that will improve my salawat drastically?
07:19And that key is, ready?
07:22Talk to Allah.
07:25Talk to Allah azza wa jal.
07:28This is what's happening in the winter prayer when I'm raising my hand.
07:31I am talking to Allah, ya Allah, ya Allah, grant me this, ya Allah, give me this, ya Allah, give me that,
07:36ya Allah, protect me from this, ya Allah, bless me with good children, ya Allah, ya Allah.
07:42I'm talking to Allah and I'm expecting a response.
07:45That's why that is the most part of the salawat that we have khushu'a,
07:50that we feel that we are so connected to Allah because we are talking to Allah azza wa jal.
07:54So why don't I talk to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala through my whole salat?
07:58What does that mean?
07:59Allahu akbar, alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen.
08:05I am thanking Allah azza wa jal.
08:07I am talking to Allah.
08:08I'm telling you, ya Allah, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to stand and pray.
08:13Thank you, ya Allah, for all the na'am that you have blessed me with.
08:15And by the way, we will be insha'Allah ta'ala explaining the ayat of the Fatiha,
08:20ayah by ayah, every episode one ayah.
08:23So we're going to describe them in details, insha'Allah,
08:25and explain them in details when we come to it, insha'Allah.
08:28So talking to Allah azza wa jal, rabbana laka alhamd, ya Allah, to you belong the best of gratitude.
08:35And I remember the na'am that Allah blessed me with.
08:37When I go down to my sujood, in my sujood, subhana rabbial ala.
08:42I'm talking to Allah.
08:43I'm glorifying Allah.
08:44So imagine yourself, you are talking to Allah.
08:47Every single word that you say, when you get up from the sujood, rabbighfir li.
08:52I'm talking to Allah.
08:53Unfortunately right now, if you look at yourself, you get up, subhana rabbial ala,
08:57Allah akbar, rabbighfir li, rabbighfir li.
08:59No feeling whatsoever.
09:01But if I imagine I am talking to Allah, ya Allah, please forgive me.
09:05Ya Allah, please forgive me.
09:08Ya Allah, to you belongs the best of greetings.
09:13I am talking to Allah.
09:17When I start concentrating about every statement as if I'm talking to Allah azza wa jal,
09:22my salat will be amazing salat.
09:25We will definitely, bi-idhnillah ta'ala, with the help of Allah,
09:28we will definitely reach the state of khushu'a.
09:32If we introduce to our salat all these keys that we mentioned,
09:37from the hope, to the fear, to the love, and then we add this final key,
09:43this key of talking to Allah azza wa jal, you would feel completely different.
09:48Subhana Allah.
09:49Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he said,
09:51إذا كان أحدكم في الصلاة, and the hadith is in Bukhari and Muslim,
09:55إذا كان أحدكم في الصلاة فإنه يناجي ربه.
09:59When any of you is performing salat,
10:02he is actually having an intimate conversation with Allah azza wa jal.
10:06The munajat is higher than just talking.
10:09Munajat is an intimate conversation with Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
10:13So I am having a conversation with Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
10:17Let me feel that.
10:19If you are about to talk to somebody who is very famous, very rich, very powerful,
10:23and very kind, and very generous, you will feel so proud.
10:27You will give so much attention to that conversation.
10:32Well, you are in the presence of the king of kings,
10:37and you are talking to your creator.
10:40You are thanking Allah azza wa jal.
10:42You are praising Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
10:45You are glorifying Allah azza wa jal.
10:48Subhana Allah.
10:52We do not feel in our salat the connection with Allah subhana wa ta'ala.
10:59That's why if we start practicing this key of talking to Allah,
11:08every single salat will be like the dua of Ramadan.
11:15We all miss that, right?
11:17Subhana Allah.
11:19So we have to try from now on to bring all these keys together,
11:29and your next salat insha'Allah ta'ala, try to practice them and implement them all.
11:36This is the only way that we will all benefit from this series,
11:41is that every time I will give you a key, you take it and you do your best to implement it in your salat.
11:48And insha'Allah ta'ala, like we promised, if we put all these keys together insha'Allah ta'ala,
11:53with the help of Allah, I always repeat, with the help of Allah,
11:56because without His help, we cannot do anything.
11:59With His help, and with sincere intention,
12:02you would feel that your salat has totally improved, bi-idhnillahi ta'ala.
12:08So insha'Allah ta'ala, the next salat, introduce all the keys that we did,
12:12make sure you have the emotion of hope, that Allah will have mercy upon me.
12:17You have the feeling of rahba, of fear, you have the feeling of love,
12:22and you will practice all these keys as if you are talking to Allah azza wa jal.
12:31May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make us all from the people who have khushu' in their salat.
12:35Now it's the time for iftar, please make a lot of dua, ask Allah azza wa jal to save your neck from the hellfire,
12:40ask Allah azza wa jal to accept your fasting and your salat and your dua and your reading of the Quran,
12:46ask Allah azza wa jal to bless your children and your parents,
12:49ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bring us back to our masajid,
12:53ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to make us from the people of Jannah,
12:56and save us from the people of hell, ameen, ya rabbal alameen.
13:00Insha'Allah ta'ala tomorrow, we will have another tool that will improve our salat,
13:10and we have been performing this for a long time,
13:13but we never paid attention to the details of this ibadah that we will be talking about tomorrow.
