00:00The greatest ever. John Lennon of football.
00:04Yeah, one of the best managers ever.
00:06It's an honour for me to be with him in this place.
00:16Well, he has to be. I mean, 27 years at one football club,
00:21numerous amounts, over 30 trophies, I don't think there is anybody else.
00:25As you said, you talk about great, the legacy that Manchester United represent,
00:29and you mention from Sir Bobby to Sir Alex to Wayne Rooney,
00:33not long here I'm sure he will be a Sir as well.
00:36So there's quite, unless you're a Sir, you won't be able to be a legend.
00:39That's a special group to be in.
00:41You have to have a driving force, and Sir Alex Ferguson has proved himself up at Aberdeen
00:49and went on after a really shaky couple of years early on to become a masterful manager.
00:56I think people skills is absolutely phenomenal.
00:59The way football is now, it's about managing people.
01:03Because you're not just a manager, and that's what it felt to understand.
01:06I think it's different, oh, you're a manager.
01:08You're managing and massaging eagles, and that's what football is about.
01:13He was so charismatic, and the stories that he told,
01:19and the way he could pump us up before games, important games,
01:23and also bring in the history of Man United.
01:26So I think he's one of the best managers ever.
01:30Maybe he is the greatest ever.
01:35John Lennon of football or something like this.
01:37From my side for sure it's a big amount of respect,
01:41because what he did in his life as a manager,
01:46I think it's not too easy to do it again for another manager.
01:50It's an honour for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson in that situation.
01:55I have to say I got a message from him this morning in my phone that touched me a lot.
02:02And it's an honour for me to be with him in this place.
02:07He's so nice.
02:09I admire him, and maybe I even admire him more today.
02:15Because his way of defending the club he worked for was incredible.
02:21You don't touch Manchester United.
02:25He defended, I'm sure, the best players, the worst players.
02:30He defended everyone working for Manchester United.
02:34And he built...
02:38Imperium.
02:40I don't know, I don't have the right word.
02:42But he built a very, very strong club and a very, very strong football team.
