00:00What did Governor Soludo do with Naira's $487 billion in the last 30 months?
00:10For the past two and a half years, Governor Soludo has been at the helm of a number of
00:14states.
00:15Renowned as a financial expert and international development economist, he came into office
00:20with promises of transforming the state to rival global hubs like Dubai or Taiwan, where
00:26once barren and rocky landscapes have been turned into economic powerhouses admired worldwide.
00:32During his tenure, Governor Soludo has received substantial sums, and these are coming from
00:38three major sources.
00:39Number one is the FAC, the Federal Allocation Account, where over $243 billion has been
00:44received.
00:45The IGR, where over $82 billion has been received.
00:48And then, of course, the local government allocations, where over $162 billion Naira
00:52has received, a total of $487 billion, excluding other potential revenues from long-term government
00:59investments.
01:00Personal costs for the 30 months are estimated at about $53 billion Naira, leaving the government
01:05with over $434 billion Naira, assuming there were no surpluses from his predecessor, Governor
01:11Obiano.
01:12Therefore, by all accounts, Governor Soludo should have considerable financial resources
01:18at his disposal, akin to Proverbio Isorgo and his charm.
01:23Governor Soludo has openly criticized former Governor Pito Obi's approach of saving money
01:28and making long-term investments, suggesting he is fully utilizing all available funds
01:33for development projects.
01:35Despite these significant financial inflows, there is little visible evidence across the
01:40entire state of Anambra where these billions have been deployed.
01:44Let's talk about roads.
01:46While some roads have been constructed and fly over in a Columbia under construction,
01:51realistic estimates suggest not more than $50 billion, at most $80 billion, has been
01:57deployed on these projects by Soludo and company.
02:01From the Chinua Achebe Airport, which is gradually falling into a state of disrepair due to a
02:06lack of government support, to Newi, a hub that should be known for industrialization,
02:12which lacks meaningful infrastructure development.
02:15This one this year, which should actually be the center of excellence when it comes
02:18to trade and commerce, but nothing near that, and the state capital, Orca, which actually
02:24should be the best state capital in the Southeast, but of course, it glorifies today because
02:30of lack of attention.
02:32Nothing notable happening.
02:33The question here is, apart from what Governor Obi and Governor Obiano did, what has Governor
02:39Soludo done in these very important cities and local governments?
02:44Cananbra, I want you to follow me on this journey.
02:47Let's actually probe into where these funds have gone into.
02:52You'll hear things like road construction, to security, to agricultural.
02:58Let's talk a little bit about them.
03:00Despite the substantial personnel costs, the total expenditure over the past 30 months
03:06equates to approximately...
