A man stayed in the cheapest hotel in the UK for £16-a-night - and said he'd go again.
George Redfern, 21, spent the night in Coco Beach Hotel, in Blackpool, on June 14, 2024.
The hotel has a two star rating on Booking.com and for £16.20-a-night it is the cheapest hotel in the UK.
George says the accommodation wasn't as bad as he expected and he had a pleasant night.
George, a content creator, from the Wirral, Merseyside, said: “It surprised me how clean it was for a hotel that cheap, and I probably would stay there again.
“If I was to give a rating it would probably be a three and a half out of five.
"Probably because the space of the room and the shower system.”

00:00I'm going to be staying at the cheapest hotel in the UK.
00:03For this episode of WanderWise, we head to Blackpool,
00:06where George Redfern set the challenge of staying in the cheapest hotel in the UK.
00:09George booked a stay at the Cocoa Beach Hotel for just £16.20,
00:13a price that might raise a few eyebrows, but for a place that's as cheap as chips.
00:17Expectations were, let's say, low. Let's take a look at how he got on.
00:21I am staying at the Cocoa Beach Hotel.
00:25Just checked in. Let's have a look at the room.
00:29So, starting off, we've got a nice double bed with two towels,
00:34with soap and some hair and body wash.
00:38We have this railing. As we can see, the door's not in the best condition.
00:46Looks like it's been smashed through here.
00:48Hot drink facilities. We've got some milk, coffee, sugar, two mugs.
00:56We've got a lamp. There you go.
01:01And we've got a sink, literally right next to the bed.
01:05So, is that good? I guess so.
01:08Let's check it's working. Yeah, everything's working there.
01:11This looks like a prison mirror. Let's just, first of all, let's have a look.
01:18You see there's some marks here, a few little marks.
01:23Mattress is a bit old and springy.
01:29I think we've just found blood.
01:40It's not too bad.
01:41Just noticed more blood on the curtains.
01:46I'm sure the floor, yeah, you can literally just pick the floor up,
01:51the carpet.
01:53As you can see, I'm in the bathroom.
01:57The toilet is very clean. That's good.
02:01Shower.
02:04I'm just a bit, it's not the best shower, but it's not a shower head.
02:08I'm going to put something from a phone.
02:11Good morning. I've had the best sleep,
02:15but it's more people who are sleeping here, too loud.
02:20I've just noticed the suspected blood all over the wall.
02:26That is disgusting.
02:27Let it run now for about three minutes and it's not getting any warmer.
02:33My shower was a big fail.
02:35So now I'm going to my prison corner and do myself a little wash.
02:41I was going to use this cup, but it's dirty.
02:45It is time to check out of this hotel.
02:50Had a lovely stay.
03:08And that was my stay at the cheapest hotel in the UK.
03:13Overall, it was far from luxury, but for £16 a night, you really can't complain,
03:18especially if you're traveling on a budget and just need a basic place to rest.
