European citizens collectively waste nearly 60 tonnes of food annually, and authorities are aiming to slash the figure by 2030.

00:00Europeans continue to generate a staggering amount of food waste.
00:11The latest Eurostat data shows each EU citizen produces an average of 132 kilograms of waste per year.
00:21This amounts to a total of 59.2 million tons across the entire bloc.
