Ex-Three Lions defender Stuart Pearce has called on England fans to get behind 'fantastic' coach Thomas Tuchel

00:00I think only time will tell that, to be quite honest with you. I think it comes as a bit of
00:04a shock, the timing of it, because we all felt as though Lee Carsley had six games.
00:10At the end of that six-game period, the FA would go about their business in regard to
00:16either looking at Lee and thinking, yes, he's our man, or alternatively, go somewhere else. But
00:22for whatever reason, they've decided to bring that sort of announcement forward slightly.
00:28Obviously, speculation about one or two in the summer, Jürgen Klopp, Eddie Howe,
00:37Graham Potter, obviously Lee Carsley in the mix, and Thomas Tuchel was one of those as well. But
00:43from Tuchel's point of view, fantastic CV. When you look at what he's won, where he's been,
00:50I think he enjoys English football as well, which I think he's gained a love of that since he's been
00:57over, really. For me, I probably would have preferred an English manager. But of the
01:04mentality, I'm not dead set against having a foreign manager. I didn't have that mentality
01:10when Sven Guren came in. I thought, well, hang on, let's have a look at this. If it helps us be
01:16successful, well and good. I obviously worked under Fabio as well when he was at the FA.
01:22So I think it's a time to say, let's get behind it.
