00:00All right, a player that used to play in Florida for many years of the NBA, Shaquille O'Neal
00:07with the magic, Shaquille O'Neal with the heat, also played for the Lakers of course,
00:10I think he played for Boston, maybe Cleveland too at the end of his career, I don't remember,
00:14played a lot of teams.
00:15NBA season starting and Shaquille O'Neal is now a partner for DraftKings.
00:20I guess this really shouldn't surprise anybody going into the season because anybody who's
00:24popular who can engage and get more people going and Shaq definitely with a lot of his
00:29followers on social media is definitely one of those.
00:31Yeah, definitely.
00:33It's no surprise that DraftKings, obviously a company with a lot of money, we just talked
00:37about how well they're doing, throwing more money at a big media personality.
00:40What I think is really interesting here is, so Shaq works for inside the NBA, right?
00:45And they have their own contract with FanDuel to promote the FanDuel sports book on the
00:51show.
00:52Shaq, I mean, you see him in a ton of commercials, you just listed all the teams he played on.
00:55I think he played on Phoenix as well.
00:57He's very well known, but his big platform is on that show.
01:01So you have another case of where there's this guy working for DraftKings, but also
01:05kind of promoting FanDuel's product.
01:07You've seen the same thing with Stephen A. Smith with ESPN that he does the commercials,
01:11see his face on a cab, and then you go over to his own show he has, and he's talking about
01:15prize pick selections.
01:16So it's another kind of development in this weird space where all these sports books are
01:20throwing money.
01:22I wouldn't be surprised if eventually down the road, we have it sort of written into
01:25these contracts where, hey, you can't have your own kind of sports betting partner if
01:29we have our own.
01:30It'd be like if I hopped up on the show wearing a different network shirt.
01:34It's just kind of a weird thing.
01:36So we'll have to keep kind of seeing what happens in this space if the sports books
01:39become more keen to this sort of relationship or not.
