People in Houston were grabbing for jackets this morning as some of the coolest air in nearly six months settled into the state. Relief from the heat has arrived, but now Texas needs some rain.

00:00Well another beautiful day today in Texas in terms of sunshine at least wall-to-wall sunshine
00:04We've seen a lot of it all week long
00:06But we started the week off very hot a sizzling start to the week with high temperatures
00:10Well into the 90s Monday and Tuesday record high set both days Mondays high got up to 99
00:15Tuesdays high in Houston got up to 98 degrees
00:17We fell to the 40s this morning the result of a cold front coming through as a cold this morning
00:22We've seen the Houston area in nearly six months
00:25So the heat that's gone for now you get a break from the heat much needed break
00:28We probably put the pool season behind us for this year
00:31Now we need some rain across the state desperately need some rain according to the US drought monitor report that came out on Thursday a
00:37Little more than half the state of Texas is at least a moderate drought. So some rain is needed
00:42Unfortunately the forecast I looked at all the way through the weekend through Sunday is not calling for any substantial rain
