00:25environment where I could come out and talk about the fact that I had a kid that's part
00:29of the LBGTQ community and how much I love them. And between them and the production
00:35staff, it was just very comfortable. And then from there, somebody picked it up and did
00:41a TikTok and then next thing you know, Harvey does a piece on TMZ and all of a sudden I'm
00:47the accidental advocate. You are! You are the advocate now. How do you feel about being
00:52the accidental advocate? Something you probably didn't go in intending this to come out of
00:56No! It's very overwhelming. I'm just the nice, quiet doctor. I'm just the guy that, you know,
01:02I got my practice, I got my patients and now all of a sudden I'm doing people or TMZs coming
01:09up to me on the street corner and saying, Hi Bob!
01:12Right! Well, I mean, Thanksgiving's coming up and you talked about how you're famous
01:17for throwing these lesbian Thanksgivings at your house.
01:19Well, I throw the party. I think it's the waywards that make it famous.
01:25Right.
01:26I would say I throw the parties, but it's the waywards that make them epic.
01:30You call them the waywards. I like that.
01:32Okay. So here's the story behind wayward. At the end of Wynwood Boulevard in Venice
01:37is the Rainbow Lifeguard Tower. And that used to be the gay beach, the gay beach back in
01:44the seventies. And I just took Wynwood and turned it into wayward. And wayward means
01:50kind of, it doesn't mean like lost or adrift like most people do. Wayward means unpredictable,
01:57outside of the norm, ungovernable. Yeah, you know the word. And the Marina Peninsula home
02:08for lesbians didn't fit. So we threw wayward in there and bam, it took off.
02:12And since it became like your thing on the show and went viral, have you had people DMing
02:18you asking you, can I come to the wayward lesbian Thanksgiving?
02:22Oh my God. My Instagram and I didn't even know about TikTok. I just logged into that
02:27a couple of days ago and found all kinds of stuff there. But I'm getting hundreds and
02:31hundreds of people that want to come to this Thanksgiving. And I'll be honest. I think
02:38we're going to stick for Thanksgiving. We're going to stick with the OG. But what we're
02:43working on is trying to come up with something for a bigger community where the rest of the
02:49LBGTQ community can come and we can have some sort of celebration.
02:54Interesting. So are you thinking of a pride month type event?
02:58I have no idea, but it's all kind of percolating in the brain right now. As I said, I've never
03:04imagined myself in this position. I feel like David Byrne. I'm like, how do I work this?
