00:00Okay, so in the middle of the summer, we started to see leaks and rumors of a triple camera
00:07system on the upcoming iPad Pro.
00:09And I remember thinking like, okay, sure, I guess.
00:14And then one showed up in the studio.
00:15This is like a dummy model of a triple camera system on the upcoming iPad Pro.
00:19This is like a piece of plastic and, you know, it's plastic on the front as well.
00:25But it's got this triple camera system and I've been looking at this thing and just wondering
00:30there's got to be more than this, right?
00:31Like when this iPad launches, there has to be more to this product than just a triple
00:36camera system because no one is going to be buying a new iPad Pro when the headlining
00:41feature is just, hey, we have three lenses on the iPad Pro, right?
00:45So there's got to be more to it.
00:46And I thought, what else could it be?
00:49I think it's going to be the display.
00:51And it's weird that there hasn't been a lot of rumors and talk about what kind of display
00:55that they're going to be running on the new iPads.
00:57I think it's going to be an OLED display.
00:59So the existing iPad Pro already has a great looking screen.
01:02They call it a liquid retina screen, which is the same moniker as the ones on the iPhone
01:0711 and XR from last year.
01:09It's just in reference to the liquid crystal display.
01:12But the iPad Pro has a much better looking image than the iPhone XR or the iPhone 11.
01:16It's not just the 120Hz ProMotion.
01:19Everything about this display is better than those phones.
01:22But to make Apple's new Pro lineup match nicely, I think they're going to go with an OLED panel
01:27on the upcoming iPad Pro.
01:29And they're still going to have 120Hz ProMotion.
01:31And they're probably going to use that XDR moniker.
01:33So like the Super Retina XDR Pro Max S display.
01:39But regardless of what they name it, an OLED display on the iPad Pro would be a significant upgrade.
01:44You get better colors, better contrast ratios, and better blacks.
01:48Like even though the existing liquid retina screens have pretty good blacks, they're not
01:52black black.
01:53Like an OLED display would do it.
01:55But another thing that's not talked about very often with these existing iPad Pros,
01:59like even the new ones, the 2018 ones, they don't have a good response time.
02:04Like even though they have a very fast refresh rate of 120Hz, when you look at the response
02:08time on these displays, they're actually quite high.
02:11They're like 35, 36 milliseconds.
02:13So you do see some ghosting on these screens if you look for it.
02:16And if you compare them to other IPS panels, this does have a relatively slow response time.
02:21An OLED panel would be able to drop that down significantly.
02:24There's some OLED panels out there that are like under 1ms response time.
02:27So when it comes to people that are using their pencil on these screens, it's going
02:31to feel super responsive on an OLED display.
02:34And that, I think, is going to be the main headlining feature.
02:37The display.
02:38Not the triple camera system.
02:39Like Apple's not dumb.
02:40They're not going to try to sell people this like minor upgrade on the new iPad Pro.
02:45There's no way people are going to buy that.
02:47They would buy this though.
02:48Like a new display, faster response time, better like colors, contrast, everything.
02:53That's a sellable product.
02:54So that's, I believe, the new iPad Pro.
02:56Now, as for when it's going to come out, I believe there's supposed to be like a rumor
03:00of an event in late October.
03:02And there's supposed to be a rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro, which I would also believe would
03:07also have an OLED display.
03:09So that every single Pro product that Apple has would therefore have a Pro OLED display.
03:15So you'd have the iPhone Pro, the Pro Display XDR with a $1,000 stand, an iPad Pro, and
03:20a MacBook Pro.
03:21Super expensive, I'm sure, but they'd all be rocking OLED XDR displays.
03:25And that makes sense to me.
03:26That's the only way that I can see this triple camera system iPad Pro actually selling.
