00:00This is a statement from the 16-year-old victim's family. We would like to take
00:04this opportunity to thank all those who have assisted in our son's recovery, from
00:09the school community to the paramedics and the doctors and surgeons who gave
00:12outstanding care whilst he was at hospital. We are eternally grateful for your
00:16interventions. The police and the prosecution team have helped us navigate
00:20this horrific case with the utmost professionalism and compassion. Their
00:24thoroughness and attention to detail in the investigation has been truly
00:27impressive. We are indebted to everyone involved and would like to convey our
00:31sincerest thanks.
