00:00First up in your lead October half-term 2024 guide is the White Rose Shopping Centre, which
00:07is hosting free family craft events between Monday the 28th of October and Friday the
00:121st of November. Guests are invited to get creative with stickers, pens, stencils and
00:17glitter and you can take your creations away to enjoy over Halloween. The sessions run
00:22between 11am to 4pm in their central atrium.
00:27The Royal Armouries are looking for junior detectives to help them solve a cold case
00:31this October half-term. You'll be issued with a crime file on arrival and must explore the
00:36museum gathering clues and forensic evidence to work out the name of the culprit. You'll
00:42track down suspects and take your evidence to the forensic lab to see if you've solved
00:46the case.
00:49Next the Leeds Museums and Galleries venues are holding an array of events throughout
00:53the October half-term, from Halloween hunts and cellar tours to penguin and capybara experiences.

01:15The Thackray Museum of Medicine's Petrifying Poisons event runs between Saturday the 26th
01:20of October and Sunday the 3rd of November. There are more than 100 toxic plants growing
01:26in the UK alone, but which fatal flora could be lurking in your garden? Whether it's pop-up
01:31history shows, pottery making or amulet crafting, the museum has a perfectly poisonous prescription
01:37for all the family.
01:40The Hunslet Club is a not-for-profit youth organisation with over 3,450 members, serving
01:47as a safe place for young people in and around Leeds. They're hosting a number of activity
01:51camps throughout the school holidays, including dance, rugby and art, and you can search the

02:01Harewood House are embracing a spooky spirit this autumn with their October Holiday Club.
02:06They're hosting three full days of adventure exploring history, art and nature, between
02:119am and 4pm on Tuesday the 29th, Wednesday the 30th and Thursday the 31st of October,
02:18and fancy dress is highly encouraged.
02:22There are numerous theatre and family shows being staged across the city this half-term,
02:26including the Bubble Show at the Carriageworks Theatre on Wednesday the 30th of October.
02:32Actor and storyteller The Highland Joker is one of the top bubble artists in the world.
02:38Over at the Leeds Playhouse, they're staging a theatrical tale for children celebrating
02:42the magic of gardening, community and friendship called The Hidden Garden, between the 2nd
02:47and 4th of November. In the production, a curious child discovers a hidden garden and
02:52meets the man who has created his own little paradise to brighten up the grey, and to feed
02:57those for whom hunger is never far away.
