A heavily pregnant woman and her unborn baby have died after a collision involving an unmarked police car in southeast London.
The incident happened in Eltham on the A20, near the junction with Kidbrooke Park, on Thursday evening.
A member of the public's car and an unmarked police vehicle collided at around 6:15pm, the Metropolitan Police said.
London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade and London’s Air Ambulance all attended.
But the 38-year-old woman, who was in the car, and her unborn child sadly died as a result of their injuries.
Two officers who were in the police vehicle were also taken to hospital following the crash but have since been discharged.
Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A probe has been launched.
