01:23And you never quite knew what he was going to be doing.
01:26And he was always challenging me to push the boundaries of what I thought I could and couldn't do.
01:39And then my indigestion issues got gigantic and constant.
01:47And then I started thinking, I'm getting skinny.
01:54There's nothing that can prepare you for that.
01:57And when you get that news, your life turns on a dime.
02:02And nothing is the same.
02:15When they start screwing with people I love, then they start screwing with my family.
02:21You know, hope is a very, very fragile thing in anyone's life.
02:25And people I love do not need to be having that hope robbed from them.

02:39He's going to keep kicking it.
02:43Six months after the National Enquirer said he was already going to be dead,
02:48he was here in Chicago shooting the series The Beast.
02:53He was working five days a week, 14 to 16 hours a day, getting chemo on the weekends.
03:00Yeah, I think everybody thought I was out of my mind, you know, thinking I'm going to pull off a TV show.
03:09I had no idea, really, the depths of his toughness and the amount of fight in him.
03:22He could have lashed out. I could have pulled back.
03:25But in actuality, we just kind of took each other's hands and jumped in together.
03:31I don't think I could handle what I'm going through if it weren't for her.
03:35I have no greater respect for any other human being on this earth like I have for her.
03:44He became a better person than he already was.
03:47There was a humbleness and a wisdom that was so admirable.
03:59The issue is when do you get tired?
04:01When do you decide the fight isn't worth, isn't matching up to your quality of life?
04:07I like to believe that I've got a lot of guardian warriors sitting on my shoulders.
04:11And so I'm trying to shut up and let my angels speak to me and tell me what I'm supposed to do.
04:16And while cancer took him, it never beat him.
04:31And just because he's gone doesn't mean the fight is over.
04:34There are so many people out there who deserve the chance that Patrick wanted and fought so hard for.
04:39And as far as I'm concerned, I am going to kick Patrick out of cancer as a fact.
04:50When no matter what happened, the spirit went on.
