00:02In this video, I will explain the ending of The Brother's Son, so, let's begin.
00:06Netflix's action-comedy series, The Brother's Son, delivers the dramatic twists and turns
00:11in the lives of the Son family, who are already dysfunctional enough.
00:15The story begins with an event that should have brought them closer, but as the events
00:18unravel, secrets, lies, and old grudges come to light, and it becomes clear that there
00:22is too much history between them for things to settle easily.
00:26By the end, everything becomes even more complicated than it was at the beginning.
00:30Here is everything you need to know about the ending, just to let you know this video

00:36Charles' son is the son of Big Son, the Red Pole of the Jade Dragons, a feared leader
00:40of the Triad.
00:41So, when Big Son is shot down and falls comatose, it falls on Charles to find out who is audacious
00:46enough to challenge their authority.
00:49At the same time, he must also protect his mother and his younger brother from danger,
00:53for which he has to travel to Los Angeles.
00:56In reuniting with his family, Charles also puts them in danger, as their enemies now
00:59know where to find them.
01:01This puts his mother, Eileen, on a path that will change everything about her life.
01:06Meanwhile, for Charles' younger brother Bruce, things get more and more chaotic as
01:09he discovers the truth about his father and their family business and how surprisingly
01:13apt he is at everything.

01:17The brother's son begins with an outside threat that the Son family has to survive.
01:22By the end, however, so much has happened that the tension exists solely out of their
01:26complicated relationships, and the epicenter of all the trouble turns out to be Big Sunday.
01:31He is revealed to be cruel and manipulative and only seems to care about power with no
01:35concern for his family, even though he drills it into Charles that protecting family comes
01:38before anything else.
01:40The problems between Big Son and Eileen also surface, especially after she discovers that
01:45he never told her about her sister's death.
01:47Fed up with his lies, Eileen decides to do away with him once and for all and decides
01:51to get herself voted as Dragon Head.
01:54But, of course, Big Son doesn't make it so easy.
01:58He uses Charles as the shield to attack Eileen, and even though she comes up with a new plan,
02:02everything is spoiled when the cops and the boxers show up at the triad meeting at the
02:05same time.
02:07In the end, the boxers are defeated, and the cops get the triad heads, who were not killed
02:11in the chaos.
02:13They have Frank Ma, who agrees to help them, but only if Big Son is in prison.
02:17For this, Alexis turns toward Charles, but when he is no help, Bruce steps in to save
02:22his family.
02:23He shoots his father, which means Big Son would have to go to an
02:26ummm
02:27which would alert the police and lead to his arrest.
02:30According to Bruce, everything should return to normal with him out of the picture.
02:35But it doesn't.
02:36Due to his wound, Big Son ends up in the hospital and not directly in prison.
02:41Eileen pays him a visit there not just to gloat about her victory but also to tell him
02:44how she is going to punish him for all his injustices over the year.
02:48She marks it in his chart that he is diabetic, so any doctor who reads it will think that
02:52Big Son really is diabetic and needs insulin.
02:55Even if Big Son wanted to tell anyone about it, he wouldn't be able to because the insulin
02:59would make him too weak to talk but keep him sane enough to experience the pain.
03:03This way, Eileen leaves him in a state of constant torture, getting her revenge.
03:08Why do Eileen and Charles go back to Taipei?
03:11Ever since Bruce finds out the truth about his family, the only thing he yearns for is
03:14to go back to normal.
03:16He thinks all the damage can be reversed if only he removes the boxers and Big Son from
03:20the picture.
03:21However, he doesn't realize that his mother might want different things.
03:26He doesn't know how she has been holding herself back all these years, and now that she finally
03:29has the chance, she wants to jump at the opportunity to become the leader of not only the J-Dragons
03:34but of all the triads.
03:36For this, however, she'll have to go back to Taipei.
03:40Throughout the season, Eileen proves herself to be more cunning than everyone expects her
03:43to be and displays her aptitude and enthusiasm for the job.
03:47Knowing that Bruce can take care of himself and there is no danger from the boxers, she
03:51decides to use her newfound freedom to pursue her lifelong dream and return to Taipei.
03:56Before going back, she tells Charles he can stay back if that's what he wants.
04:00She even buys him a bakery where he can bake to his heart's content and focus on what he
04:04wants.
04:05No matter how much Charles wants that life, he knows he cannot have it until he knows
04:09his family is safe.
04:11While his mother is an extremely resourceful woman, he knows that she would require everyone
04:15and everything at her disposal to execute the plan she has for the future.
04:19While she might have a past in Taipei, she hasn't been there for the past 15 years, and
04:23things have changed a lot.
04:25Charles, on the other hand, has spent the past decade and a half building his reputation
04:29as Chairleg's son, one of the deadliest and most feared killers around.
04:33If he stands by his mother, her opponents will have to think twice about making a move
04:37against her.
04:39It's clear that Charles craves a life where he can run a bakery, marry the girl he loves,
04:43and have a family of his own.
04:44However, he is bound by honor to protect the family he actually has, and if that means
04:49delaying, if not giving up on his dreams, then so be it.
04:53When he expresses the prospect of following his mother to Taipei, she says he must do
04:56it only if that's what he wants.
04:59It's not what he wants, but it is what he must do, and even though things might have
05:02changed considerably since he came to Los Angeles, Charles knows that some things will
05:06never change, and his responsibility to protect his family at all costs is one of those things.
05:11Will Eileen become Dragonhead?
05:13The brothers' son begins with an outside attack, but that turns out to be only an appetizer
05:18before we are taken to the root of the conflict.
05:20The boxers take a back seat as the son family fights amongst themselves to become the Dragonhead.
05:26The rivalry between big son and Eileen, with Charles as his father's proxy, becomes quite
05:31tense.
05:32She makes it clear how much she wants to be Dragonhead and how much she is up to the task.
05:37Her path has many obstacles, but most of them are removed by the end of the season.
05:41The meeting where the heads of the triads were supposed to vote for the next Dragonhead
05:44is infiltrated by the boxers, followed by the cops.
05:48By the end, almost all the triad heads are either killed or arrested.
05:52This leaves an immense power vacuum, and Eileen intends to make use of that, turning the situation
05:57in her favor.
05:58She has already proved herself quite adept at the job.
06:01All she needs to do now is go and get what is hers.
06:04However, things won't be so simple.
06:07The power vacuum in the triads is not a secret to anyone, and just like Eileen, a bunch of
06:11other people, all of them from one triad gang or another, will try to get their hands on
06:15that power.
06:17It could be the rivals trying to get hold of each other's business or just someone succeeding
06:20the head of their gang and becoming more ambitious after taking over that role.
06:25To reiterate, Eileen has no idea what she is walking into, or at least not as good of
06:28an idea as she'd like to have.
06:31She has Charles by her side, but even he might have to face some unexpected changes
06:34following the situation.
06:36Moreover, by now, Eileen has been away for so long that she might be considered an outsider
06:41by the new leaders of the triads, all of whom would want the power of the dragon head for
06:44themselves.
06:46This already puts a lot of trouble in her path, but that's not even the worst of it.
06:50Considering that Big Son isn't dead yet, it is fair to say that he is not exactly out
06:54of the game.
06:56If anything, there is a good chance that he will return.
06:59The post-credits scene focuses on his right-hand man coming to LA and inquiring about Frank
07:03Ma.
07:04It makes sense that he is there to get Big Son out of prison-slash-hospital and remove
07:08Frank Ma, the only witness, for the prosecution.
07:11To incite more conflict, the show would lean towards ruining Ma's testimony and the release
07:16of Big Son from prison.
07:18Once that happens, he'd be back in the game, which means he can stir up all sorts of trouble
07:22for Eileen, making it even more difficult for her to become dragon head.
07:26So, no matter how much we root for her, it's clear that she won't become dragon head so
07:30easily.
