00:00You mentioned the constitution amendment law just now. You say we still have more effort to progress.
00:08After passing the law, will you monitor, MCA will take part in how to monitor the government
00:16to make sure the stateless and also the women in overseas born, the child will get registered?
00:24Because the amendment just passed, of course we need to engage with the more relevant parties
00:33involving all these organisations who proposed all these and suggesting a lot of these proposed
00:41other amendments to our original RUU. So all these NGOs, we will try our best to engage them
00:51with our discussion and our forum, whatever we can do in our capacity to uphold our women's rights
01:02in all aspects, particularly in this citizenship rights. Because whatever we hear from the reports
01:14a lot of these NGOs raise a concern over this stateless child and human rights.
01:20Of course all this is, we need to balance up. All this we have one portfolio raising this concern.
01:31Of course we also got our government concern for other issues.
01:35So we have to look from the aspect, of course the human rights, we are more concerned
01:41on the human rights issue and how to uphold our Malaysian rights at the same time.
01:47All these things we need to look into, but of course we have the taskforce.
01:50Because in our Wanita now, we have two committees. One is for the legal bureau, another one is for
01:58all on the study, advisory on the particular law reforms. All these committees will work hand in hand
02:09to see whatever we can do to bring more reforms, to try to get the amendment done to our Wanita efforts
02:19to see the thing done right. It's more we are concerned.
