After granting Sabah and Sarawak the largest development allocations in Budget 2025, the responsibility now lies with the states to ensure that all plans are effectively implemented, according to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He emphasised that he does not want to hear about delays or losses caused by inefficiencies or corrupt practices that could hinder the progress of developments planned with the allocated funds.

00:00I intend to initially to also repeat some of the programs and projects that we have passed.

00:15I wouldn't do so because you should only know that as a state, this is a big state
00:25and many areas are still considered to be underdeveloped
00:29and we have spent huge funds for the Pan Borneo project, which is, alhamdulillah, finally ongoing.
00:39It's almost complete in Sarawak, a bit more push needed for Sabah.
00:45But please appreciate the fact that in yesterday's budget, the allocation for Sabah is the highest ever recorded in this country.
01:08Is it able to resolve most of our issues or problems of underdevelopment, schools, hospitals, conditions? No.
01:16But it's a bold attempt and we will continue to do that.
01:22Your task is to make sure that it's implemented efficiently, transparently.
01:32We don't end the unnecessary losses due to delays, inordinate delays and waste, commissions and corruption.
01:46That's now your responsibility to make sure that it works and work as a team because Sabah is also a showcase.
01:56It's multiracial, 30 ethnic groups, multireligious, but can work with ihsan, with compassion, with respect as a great family.
