00:00And next up, it is what we like to call the Comeback Award.
00:04Now, this one is brought to you by Serie A.
00:06The comeback is always greater than the setback, if you like,
00:10and the joy is often indescribable.
00:13It's now time to pay tribute to an entire team
00:16whose rise has, well, truly captured the imagination,
00:20not just of a region, but a nation as a whole,
00:23and are ready to take their place amongst the elite.
00:30We would like to call up upon Luigi de Siervo,
00:33CEO of Serie A, to present the Comeback Award.
00:49And the winner are...
00:51Como!
00:54Come on!
00:56Collecting the award on behalf of Como
00:59is their assistant coach, Cesc Fabregas.
01:11Quick photo, Cesc, for the guys, if that's all right.
01:16And now a few words, if we may.
01:18So many people want to hear the story as well.
01:21Congratulations.
01:22Extraordinary season for you and the guys,
01:24back in the big time, back in Serie A after 21 years.
01:30Try and quantify, try and explain to us, if you can,
01:33how much has changed in the last few months,
01:36how much has changed since you joined Como,
01:39and what does it mean, not just for you,
01:41not just for the team,
01:42but for the supporters and the region as a whole?
01:44Yeah, I think, first of all, thanks for thinking of us.
01:47We are a very small club that has grown very, very fast.
01:51For just a few words for someone who doesn't know about Como,
01:561907, 21 years ago, we were in Serie A,
01:59then the club has been bankrupt three times.
02:03So obviously, five years ago, when the new owners bought the club,
02:07the fans didn't really believe that anything special would happen.
02:10So, yeah, from Serie D four years ago,
02:13non-professional football, to now, to Serie A,
02:17I think it represents this name very well, a great comeback.
02:21And I'm very happy for the fans, for the people of Como,
02:25because they suffered a lot and they obviously had difficult moments.
02:32Last year, when I arrived in the team, we didn't have a training ground.
02:35We had to train Mondays somewhere, Tuesdays to another place.
02:39We didn't have restaurants where to eat.
02:42We couldn't sometimes travel in good conditions.
02:45And, yeah, here we go.
02:47The society is very, very hard, very strong,
02:51and we're very happy for the community of Como.
02:54All football fans are happy.
02:56One more for you as well, because I just asked Mikel this question.
02:58I'm going to put it to you as well.
03:00A new season, just around the corner, back in Serie A as well.
03:04What is the ambition?
03:05Maybe not for the next season, but for the long-term ambition for the team?
03:10Well, I think the ambition is very clear.
03:13We want to go to the top.
03:14I think it's a very ambitious project.
03:17The owners made it very, very clear.
03:19We want to grow.
03:20We're growing a little bit too fast, in my opinion.
03:23But, yeah, the vision is that in four or five years,
03:26Como can be in the elite, you know,
03:29in good company with the very top, yeah.
03:32Absolutely love that confidence.
03:34Thank you so much indeed, Cesc Barberas.
03:36Congratulations to you and all the team at Como!
