Three people have died, and two others have been seriously injured in a crash in Carlisle early this morning. The 22-year-old male driver, who was not injured, is assisting police, having returned a positive preliminary breath test showing alcohol was likely a factor.

00:48Police say preliminary tests show the driver was under the influence of alcohol,
00:52with speed, fatigue and the failure to wear seatbelts also possible factors.
00:57The message again is for everybody to slow down and drive to the conditions.
