00:00It fell to disappointment. Not that many people had one direction or another
00:08because I know we've seen a lot of inconsistency out of this team speaking
00:11of some inconsistent teams but Michigan falls to Illinois 21 to 7. Illinois
00:16comes out on top. This was disappointing for a number of reasons. We've seen
00:20glimmers of a strong defense. Maybe strong is a strong word. We've seen
00:25glimmers of a decent defense out of Michigan. We thought that they found a
00:29rhythm once they got past Warren but having the running quarterback didn't
00:33solve the puzzle piece that was and now is what is this offense supposed to look
00:37like. Then they come into this matchup they switch out their quarterback yet
00:41again so the carousel continues and they're just unable to get any sort of
00:44offense going. They do pick up seven points but outside of that I mean
00:47Illinois is very much in control of this game. What did you see in this one and
00:51what can we expect from Michigan going down the stretch here because it's not
00:54looking good? I think Michigan's got one foot in 2025 already. They have some
01:02elite players on defense. I mentioned Will Johnson and in the last segment
01:07Mason Graham up front, Kenneth Grant up front, Josiah Stewart.
01:14The Coastal Carolina transfer is having a fantastic season off the edge but
01:19Michigan is over the past few years under Jim Harbaugh has been accustomed
01:23to playing for Indianapolis in a Big Ten title game appearance last year
01:28national championship under Sharon Moore this year. Honestly that entire
01:33program has been a disappointment in the offseason. I've said it before and I'll
01:38harp on it. In the era of the transfer portal when you see teams like Indiana
01:43going to the Ohio Bobcats and getting Curtis Rourke and re-energizing their
01:49entire program. It's been happening throughout the country. Diego Pavia,
01:53New Mexico State winds up at Vandy and now Vandy's 5-2. Michigan it's
02:00negligent to me that when they saw what they had on the roster returning at
02:04quarterback they did not go out and get a veteran who could at least compete for
02:09playing time. It's been a miserable situation at quarterback. It has hurt the
02:14ground game which has been so good for so long. They don't have any balance so
02:18Michigan is going to be a non-factor down the stretch. They might be a 6-6
02:22team when all is said and done but for me the storyline here cases is Illinois
02:26and Brett Bielema. He's done it before. Wisconsin most notably but at times at
02:32Arkansas as well. This guy just knows how to coach defenses, offensive lines and
02:37he's getting a great season by Luke Altmeier. Talk about transfer
02:41quarterbacks. Illinois went out and got Altmeier from Ole Miss. He wasn't able to
02:45win the job over Jackson Dart and Altmeier before today I'd have to look
02:49at today's box score but before today 14 touchdown passes just one interception
02:53making plays with his legs and Illinois is another one of the Big Ten teams
02:59along with Indiana that's been a really big surprise so far this fall.
