00:00What's up guys, today I wanted to revisit another classic LG phone
00:04The LG V50, haven't talked about this one in a while
00:07And I just really like this phone, I had a few people ask me about this phone
00:11And I would definitely just get the V60
00:14I know a lot of people are asking because they live overseas and it's affordable
00:17I would just spend a little extra money and get the V60
00:21But the V50 to me, I think this phone still has some very cool stuff about it
00:27So the design on here, when I first picked it up again, I was like
00:30Man, this phone looks really really good
00:33I think LG had a really futuristic design going on here
00:36Because it just looks extremely sleek, very classy phone
00:40And the reason is because it's got this completely flat camera bump
00:44Which is really cool, it was on the G8 as well
00:47And it was really cool, you really don't see that at all these days
00:51So that's just really cool engineering
00:52The thing about the flat camera bump though
00:54Is that this phone will slip and slide all over the place on a flat surface
00:58But it does truly lay flat, which is really nice for typing like that
01:03So I really like that
01:04So the design, I think it's beautiful, I actually think it looks better than the V60
01:08But yeah, just a really pretty design still in this late 2023
01:13So another thing that stood out to me on the V50 was the display
01:17It's a beautiful display and it is better than the V60
01:20It's a 1440p display compared to the V60's 1080p
01:25And it's really nice, it's really sharp especially when looking at 2K content
01:29It's a 6.4 inch display, 1440p
01:32And then it's 538 for the PPI
01:34So just an extremely sharp looking panel on here
01:38And you have the old school notch on here as well too
01:41Which honestly, it still doesn't look that bad
01:44Because, I mean let's be real, Apple still has the notch in their latest iPhones

01:50Yeah, so I think the overall display here
01:53I was just really impressed with the panel on here
01:56It's completely flat and just looks really, really sharp
01:59Icons and everything just, you know, just look really, really nice
02:02Like it painted on
02:04I've always really liked these LG displays
02:06So I decided to load up PUBG to see if it was going to still play well
02:10And of course, it's still going to play really well
02:13We can still play HDR Extreme
02:15And like I told people, like we're going almost into 2024
02:18But the Snapdragon 855 is still super, super efficient
02:22So regardless of whether you get like a S10 or something like that
02:25It'll still beat a Galaxy A54 and A24
02:31Whatever mid-range phones they have
02:33It'll still beat these phones in benchmarks
02:35And overall just gaming performance here
02:37You can see, still able to play at HDR Extreme
02:39And it's super, super smooth still
02:41So yeah, we have the Snapdragon 855 on here
02:44This phone does have SD card support and the headphone jack
02:47With the quad DAC, of course
02:49And yeah, my experience with this phone still in 2023
02:53Is still very fast
02:55Like nothing about this phone feels even remotely slow at all
02:59So I'm really, really impressed with the overall speed of the V50 as well too
03:04And you do have 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM
03:09Or 6GB of RAM, sorry
03:11On the base model
03:13So yeah, so overall my experience with the V50
03:16Just still, just messing around with it
03:18Launching apps, it's still blazing fast guys
03:21Also wanted to mention like the really cool lighting 5G logo on the back
03:26I think this was at least one of the first wave of phones to get the whole 5G thing
03:31If you guys can see that, I thought that was really cool
03:33And let's talk about some of the hardware a little bit more
03:36The physical fingerprint scanner is on the back
03:38And honestly, it's still really fast
03:41And you know, I don't have any issue with it at all
03:45Like I said, you have the headphone jack with the quad DAC
03:47This does technically have stereo speakers
03:53Yeah, it's actually a dedicated speaker
03:55I was thinking about the, it was one of the GA phones that had like the under display speaker
04:00It was really weird
04:10Yeah, this one has, yeah this is dedicated
04:15If you lay the phone flat, you get a ton of bass
04:25Overall sound quality is pretty good
04:27If you cover the bottom speaker
04:29This one still puts out a pretty decent amount of sound
04:32Now let's talk about the cameras a little bit more here
04:35So the V50 has a 12 megapixel standard and a 12 megapixel telephoto with 2 cameras
04:42And then a 16 megapixel ultrawide
04:44It shoots in 4K60 with an 8 megapixel selfie cam
04:48And then a 5 megapixel wide cam
04:50So you have 2 cameras up front
04:52And that only shoots in 1080p
04:54And basically the photos on here, I was kind of surprised
04:58It still takes some pretty good shots
05:00To my surprise
05:02Really good color, really good natural color
05:04The only thing I would say is that compared to newer phones
05:07It probably doesn't do as good
05:10But honestly, if you're in daylight conditions
05:12The V50 does take some pretty good shots actually
05:15Like I said, besides that
05:17I thought the selfie cam was a little soft too
05:19But anything, everything else
05:21Still does a fairly decent job
05:23So I was kind of impressed
05:25Video quality is also pretty good
05:27On the V50 as well too
05:29So overall, you know
05:31I'm not, you know
05:33I'm not shocked
05:35I'm not surprised
05:38I'm not shocked that the camera isn't
05:40That the camera is good
05:42Yeah so overall
05:44No issues with the camera on here
05:46I think it actually still takes really good shots outdoors
05:48Now this was one of those phones
05:50Where I just didn't get the updates
05:52Because this is actually a Sprint phone
05:54And you know, Sprint went out of business
05:56And they were always a bad
05:58Just phone company in general
06:00So yeah, I just never got updates
06:02I think this one is stuck on like
06:04Android 12
06:07No it's stuck on like Android 11
06:09Or something like that
06:11Yeah but
06:13This phone also has
06:15Actually pretty good battery life still
06:17It had really good battery life
06:19And really good standby time as well too
06:21This has a 4000 mAh battery
06:23So it's not a super big battery
06:25But you'd be surprised
06:27The battery life and standby time is really good on here
06:29It also has 18W charging
06:31And wireless charging on board
06:33So yeah, so just revisiting
06:35The V50 here
06:37I really like it
06:39The screen I think is really beautiful
06:41And I think it's just hardware wise
06:43It's a really nice looking phone here
06:45You have the headphone jack, SD card support
06:47Fairly decent cameras
06:49And yeah, it's just super fast too
06:51So that's pretty much it guys
