00:00What's up guys, in today's video, I'm going to be answering a quick question about the Samsung One UI 5.0 update
00:08slash Android 13 update
00:10So, I've been getting a lot of questions of
00:12Matt, is my phone going to get the update?
00:15And then the next question is
00:17I haven't received the update yet
00:18Now, I actually get this question a lot
00:20And it's very common for Android users to not get the update all at once
00:28Now, we can all sort of chime in in the comments about this
00:32Because I've always thought that was sort of a weak thing about Android
00:36Because with iOS, when an update is released
00:39Every iPhone gets it right on time
00:43They all get it at the same time, pretty much
00:45But with Android, and even if the iPhone is on a different carrier
00:49I believe they all still come out on the same time
00:54So, even if it's locked to T-Mobile or Verizon
00:57Now, with Android, it's a little bit slower
01:00Because Android is a little bit more fragmented
01:03So, typically, the carrier has to get the update and then push it to you
01:09So, if you have an S22 Ultra and you haven't gotten the update
01:139 times out of 10, it's going to be a locked version
01:17So, Samsung sends out the update and then the carrier gets it
01:21And then the carrier has to send it to you
01:23So, there will be a slight delay in time
01:25Now, also, I've had people that say
01:27Matt, I have an unlocked S22 Ultra, right?
01:30So, I have an unlocked S22 Ultra, too
01:33This one was with...
01:35Actually, I don't have my SIM in this one
01:37Actually, I put it in another phone
01:39This one does not have any SIM in it
01:41I just got the update
01:42Now, me, personally
01:43Now, that's something that confuses a lot of people, too
01:45I bought an unlocked phone
01:46Why am I not getting the update when everybody else gets it?
01:48Basically, I think it's because it could be time zone sensitive
01:52So, they might push the update out
01:55So, I'm in Eastern time zone, right?
01:58So, it could be that, right?
02:00But other than that, I honestly don't know why
02:03That's my best guess
02:05It's just Samsung is pushing it out via time zone
02:08So, I want to go ahead and give you guys the update schedule
02:11So, you guys can see right here
02:12Because there's a lot of confusion about who gets the update and when
02:16So, you will know right here
02:17This is Samsung's update schedule
02:20So, October, you should have either gotten it for the S22 series
02:24Or you should be getting it very soon
02:26And then, we come into November
02:28Here are your list of devices
02:29So, S21 series is going to get it
02:32So, all of the S21 phones
02:34And the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, guys
02:37That will be getting Android 13
02:39That will be the last major OS update for the Note 20 series as well
02:43The Note 10 Plus will not be getting Android 13
02:47Android 12 is the last major OS update for that
02:50And it will be getting security patches
02:52You can see the S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra
02:55So, those phones
02:56You can see the tablets as well too
02:58The Galaxy A53, A33 5G
03:01And then, December, here are our list of devices
03:04S20 FE, I'll be waiting for that
03:07I think that phone really needs the update
03:09A73, you can see more A53, A33
03:13So, you can expect that
03:14All these, you can expect in December
03:17And then, we have some other devices
03:19Galaxy Jump and all that good stuff
03:22January
03:23It looks like Samsung is focusing more on the budget
03:26And mid-range phones for January
03:28So, you can see the A13, A23
03:30And then, some of the older A series phones
03:32Will be getting the update as well
03:34And then, February
03:36You guys can see
03:37That's when you can expect for these devices
03:41March
03:42And then, April
03:44Galaxy A04 will be the last one
03:47So, yeah
03:48So, that will be the update schedule for you guys
03:53Now, I definitely understand the frustration
03:55With not being able to get updates on time
03:58Just like for me
03:59With my OnePlus 7 Pro
04:01Some people have gotten the Android 12 update
04:04I still haven't gotten it
04:05I've been, you know, refreshing and checking the update
04:08Now, the best thing that you can do
04:10For those who don't actually know how
04:12Because sometimes the update will just randomly pop up
04:15And it will tell you to update
04:16But you can go to settings
04:17Scroll all the way down
04:18Software
04:20Download and install
04:22And just check for an update
04:25So, you can see mine says up to date
04:28The last update was Android 13
04:30So, basically, that's all you can pretty much do
04:33There's no, like
04:35And, you know, there are other ways to do it
04:37But it's much more complicated
04:38Like, you can sideload the update on there manually
04:42But, like I said
04:44It is a little bit more complicated
04:46And I think it would be better just to wait it out
04:48Anyway, I think
04:49As soon as you probably end up doing it
04:51The update is going to probably push to your phone
04:53So, yeah
