00:27heard jointly with 10 other charges made against the couple.
00:32Lawyer Mohammad Shahrola Khan, representing Alif Tigah, did not object.
00:37Judge Azura then ordered the bail, amounting to 50,000 ringgit, to be extended.
00:42On September 20, Alif Tigah pleaded not guilty to two counts of misappropriating funds collected
00:48for infaq or Islamic charity, involving more than 60,000 ringgit.
00:54On September 23, the 30-year-old and his 26-year-old wife were charged in the Shah Alam Sessions
01:01Court with 10 counts of misappropriating funds amounting to 1.52 million ringgit collected
01:08for charitable activities.
01:10They were charged under Section 403 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34.
01:15If convicted, they face a maximum sentence of five years in prison, caning and a fine.
