Cabbies' fury at Sheffield railway station gridlock chaos

00:00The Nasser Azak. I've been working in the station for two years.

00:03We have to pay a thousand pound a year to park on here. These people are just using it for free.

00:07We have to wait hours on ends, no job. But you see Uber picking, dropping at the same time.

00:13We are absolutely on rock bottom. I've been waiting in this traffic to pick up my job

00:17for the last 15 minutes. I can't get out of the traffic.

00:30You've got the normal pick up point for the black cab drivers on the left hand side.

00:33You've got private hire, out of towners, local ones blocking the road.

00:37You've got normal drivers coming picking their friends or family members up.

00:42You've got a multi-storey car park on your left hand side.

00:45None of the idiots tend to use it. You've got 10 minutes free parking.

00:48Instead, we've been round and round in flipping circles, junctions or blocks.

00:52We can't get to the customers. Customers can't get to us.

00:55By the time we've come back, the fares have gone up stupid prices for the customers.

01:00You're driving the council up, they don't want to flip you.

01:03We've got an issue with the private hire coming, picking up and disappearing.

01:07So why should we have to pay? If you can be fair, be fair on them as well.

01:11We've got 15 minutes and on the app it's like 10 minutes, 10 minute wait, 5 minute wait.

01:17And then you're just waiting for ages and ages and ages.

01:19And then half the time they cancel them.

01:21So then it's like, oh sorry I cancelled it.

01:22It's not all good.

01:23You know, like if you're picking up somebody else, it's just a nightmare.

01:27When I do pick up my customer, before I even get out, he's on £6.

01:31That's not fair.

01:32If I was, if I was a passenger, I would say I'm not paying that £6.

01:35Which is true, isn't it? Because you're stood in this traffic.

01:38Earlier on, like my dad said, he goes traffic,

01:41taxis used to go separate, public cars used to go separate.

01:44It was so good.

01:45Soon as they've mixed us all in, but they want £1,000 of us a year.

01:49And these could just park on here for free.
