00:00I'm starting this video by sitting in the dark because I need you to see something.
00:13Well, now that I have your attention, good day you beautiful people. Welcome to Issa Does Tech
00:17where we do tech in your life in style. In today's video and as you saw in that curious intro, we're
00:24checking out the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. I have been pretty excited to get my hands on this phone so
00:30in this video we're going to be looking at it for the first time, see what the features are,
00:35and also a quick camera tour with some sample shots. Let's go.
00:40OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. Wow, we've actually gone a very long way from the very first Reno phone that I
00:48shot. It was the Reno 10x zoom and even packaging didn't look this way and it's actually pretty
00:54interesting to me how this whole series evolved and where it was versus where we are now. Anyway,
01:00yeah, I got the starlight blue color and this is a 12GB to 56GB version.
01:10Very subtle OPPO branding there.
01:12SIM tool, paperwork, and then we have the jelly case. Says Reno on the side.
01:21We have the phone but let's see what else is in the box.
01:27Power brick, charging cord, now on to the phone. So yes, this is a 5G device with a flagship
01:33portrait camera system, portrait mode, bokeh flare portrait video, and 65W super VOOC charging which
01:40if you've seen previous videos on OPPO phones, you know that their super VOOC charging is pretty good.
01:50That is a good looking phone. There's very subtle OPPO branding down there. Also that text, wait,
01:58it's actually not textured. It just looks like it is. This is very smooth. This is also very matte.
02:06No fingerprints.
02:10Oh, I love how different the light looks depending on like what angle I hold this phone up to.
02:18Look at that. I mean, it technically is blue but now it looks like a rainbow. Right, okay, um, give me a
02:25second because I wanted to show you guys something pretty cool and it has to do with the back of that
02:30phone. Basically, what I'm showing you is the whole process of how OPPO did this back and it's obviously
02:38a lot but basically they used lasers to etch those little patterns. Let's take out this plastic first.
02:47Yeah, they used lasers to etch out tiny, tiny, tiny patterns on this glass back. Apparently, the first
02:55time it's done to a phone back and all of this basically means get a back that looks like this
03:02on the phone itself. Honestly cool because remember it started with this. Anyway, I just wanted to show
03:12you because I thought it was really, really cool. Flat sides and you have a power button on the right.
03:18At the bottom, speaker grills, USB-C port, SIM tray, SIM 1, SIM 2. On the other side, volume buttons
03:28and that's a clean top. Now again, these are very flat sides and if you've seen my recent videos,
03:37you'd know that there are a lot of phone releases that showcase these flat sides. Right, let's power
03:44it up and in the meantime, a montage. Okay, let me interrupt this unboxing for the end time to show
03:51you something cool because I can't wait. This thing has a very special feature called the breathing
03:56light. Basically, this little area, the back there, the camera module, it'll light up every time you
04:04charge or for notifications or call or game launches and you can customize all of those notifications
04:11here.
04:42Okay, so aside from this phone being 5G, that really pretty back design, that camera module
05:00with the blinking light on it, I'm especially excited to test out the cameras on this thing.
05:04That 50 megapixel shooter on the back features a flagship Sony sensor but what's really exciting
05:09to me is the fact that that 32 megapixel selfie camera up front also features a new Sony sensor.
05:16Of course, this video is just our unboxing and first look and camera tour so let me know if you
05:20guys want to see a camera vlog test or a social media test with this phone. Okay, now on to the
05:26camera tour. Right, let's go camera tour time. Camera, you have photo, wide, 1x, 2x, up until
05:40whoa 20x. You have flash settings up here, you have HDR settings, you have AI. Oh, you see the difference?
05:51You also have 50 megapixel shooter so HDR, 50 megapixel or you can turn it off so that uses
06:01pixel binning to take better but smaller photos. You get the whole deal. And then under here, you
06:09have your timer, aspect ratio, and even more settings. Bottom right, you have retouch, filters.
06:16Actually, you know what? Retouch is a better term for it over beauty mode, right? Because you're just
06:21like retouching but not really adding beauty, you get what I mean? I like that. On the right, we have
06:28a portrait mode. Now, of course, you can switch around your bokeh. That's an aperture of 16, weak,
06:35up until 0.95, strong. So everything is blurred behind me now. Here, you also have retouch, filters,
06:42all the different ones. And then up here, you have settings and then timer. Under more, you have an
06:50expert mode. Oh, look at all the settings. You can do 1x, you can do 2x, up until 10x. You have an extra
06:59HD mode, 1x, 2x, up until 5x. Also, different filters here. There is a pano mode, macro mode,
07:08movie mode. Whoa! So you have a pro mode for photos and you have a pro mode for video. This has
07:17a steady mode as well. You can do wide, 1x, up until... Can you zoom in? No, you cannot.
07:26You then have a slow-mo mode and you can do 960fps. There is 1080p, 480fps. Can you zoom in or out?
07:39You can, but there's also motion detection. You have a time-lapse mode, 1x, 2x, 10x time-lapse.
07:49You can also switch between 10x to 960x. What's this? Hyperlapse. Nice. And then there's a dual
07:59view video. You can do round, rectangle, move this around, switch your cameras around. And then you
08:09can also zoom up until 10x here. There's even retouch on this mode. You have stickers.
08:17Okay, all the cute ones. We've seen this in previous phones. Text scanner, and of course,
08:23Soloop templates. Now, if you've not heard of Soloop, it's basically like Oppo's editing app.
08:29And even if you're not on an Oppo phone, this is a very good social media short video editor.
08:36It gives you all the different templates. And so for the Oppo phones, they just have this integrated
08:42in the camera module. You also have the option to rearrange all your camera stuff. Okay, on to
08:48the other side. We have video and you have, of course, bokeh settings already built into your
08:55video. You can also turn that off. Interesting. So I like that the portrait mode on video is
09:01already built in because usually this would be a separate place to go to to shoot bokeh video.
09:09So without bokeh, you have wide, 1x, 2x, up until 10x. You also have your different filters.
09:19Oh, I also like that they basically said what resolution these effects support.
09:27Because for other phones, they just automatically downsize or downgrade the resolution.
09:32But here, it tells you. You also have retouch and then up top, flash settings. You have an ultra steady
09:39mode, you have AI video, and then you have, oh, you can do 4k. 4k allows you ultra wide, 1x, up until 10x.
09:52Nice. Night does wide, 1x, 2x, 10x. You have a tripod mode, timer, size settings, and then selfie.
10:06Okay, so I'm seeing that the retouch mode is on. And again, I don't really like this turned on.
10:12I'd rather go for natural or have it turned off completely if I get my way.
10:20I mean, like I said, I do use the beauty mode but use it just to enhance how you look. As you can
10:26see on selfie mode, the retouch features become even more detailed. I usually toggle
10:34a lot of these down. It's really just my skin that I retouch because sometimes
10:41lighting can be unforgiving. Up here, flash settings, timer settings, size settings, and then you have
10:48more settings. You can also do wide, 1x. On video, you can do wide, 1x. You have your bokeh mode built in.
10:58You have your retouch features. Again, natural for me. You have your flash, steady mode,
11:06AI, and then you can shoot up until 1080p. On to photo. Again, too much retouch. There we go.
11:15You do wide, 1x. You have flash settings, HDR auto, size settings, timer settings, and then
11:24under portrait mode again. So I really feel like these settings should carry over and this happens
11:32in a lot of phones. So filters, a lot of them too. Wide. And then we're back to more which we've
11:41already checked out. So now it's time for some sample shots.
12:03And that was our look at the OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G. Like I mentioned earlier, definitely a long way
12:09from the OPPO Reno 10x zoom we first saw of this Reno series. If you've seen any of my Reno videos,
12:16you'd know that I'm particularly invested in this line because I was there when it first came out
12:22and it was something I covered earlier on when I started my tech channel. Anyway, that's it for
12:26today. Let me know what your comments are down below. Let me know what you think about this phone
