00:00We're testing out the Redmi Note 10 Pro on your favorite social media apps
00:04plus other fun camera features you'll be able to use.
00:11Good day, you beautiful people.
00:13Welcome to Issa Does Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:16Now before we move on to the social media testing, which I'm sure all of you are excited about,
00:20I will quickly talk about Lazada's 9th birthday sale, which is happening on the 27th.
00:24As you guys know, most of the phones that I feature on this channel are available online on Lazada.
00:29And not only even that, even the stuff I shoot with,
00:31which I've talked about on a previous video, I have gotten from Lazada.
00:35But wait, there's more even cool beauty tech like this high-tech cleansing brush from Xiaomi.
00:41It has its own carry case and different vibration settings because skincare is life, you guys.
00:48Or this really nice Xiaomi LED mirror.
00:51It has a jewelry plate at the bottom and different LED light settings.
00:56And so of course, this LED mirror light and this facial cleanser can be found online on Lazada.
01:02Yup, we're not just looking at tech stuff on the online site,
01:06even tech for your everyday beauty stuff.
01:09Nice.
01:10So basically, anything you need, you can add to cart now and then check out on the 27th
01:14because there are deals of up to 90% off and free shipping with no minimum spend.
01:21Get on that.
01:21I'll link all the details down in the description.
01:24Right, back to the video.
01:27We of course start with looking at how posts look when shot with this phone.
01:30So I have the iPhone 12 mini and the Xiaomi Mi 11.
01:34I'm gonna be posting with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.
01:37And then we're gonna look at how they look through these phones.
01:40Let's get to posting.
01:42Right, let's check out how those stories work.
01:44This is the iPhone 12 mini and the Xiaomi Mi 11.
01:48So first story was shot on the IG app with the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
01:52In my social media test, this is being shot on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro
01:58straight on the IG app.
01:59This is shot on the camera app this time, then shared to IG.
02:10IG app, selfie on the camera app, and then shared to IG.
02:17On TikTok, everything looks good when shot on the camera app of the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
02:22And then edited on the TikTok app.
02:24Although I'd still suggest this way versus shooting straight on the TikTok app.
02:29You can watch all these videos shot on this phone on my TikTok account.
02:34I also did calls on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.
02:36And this is what it looks like on Telegram.
02:38Say hi to Joshua.
02:40Hi.
02:42Hello.
02:42Hi.
02:44How do I sound?
02:48You sound fine.
02:48I think I can hear your air conditioning.
02:50But otherwise, you sound fine.
02:51Well, I mean, let's go.
02:53That's on the bikes if they can hear the air conditioning.
02:55I mean, of course, call quality will always be heavily influenced by your connection.
02:59But I thought I'd show you anyway.
03:02On the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, we have a tiny selfie cutout in the middle of the screen.
03:08That's a 16 megapixel selfie camera.
03:11And there seems to be that thin reflective circle in there.
03:15I don't know if that's a thing or if that's just a reflection of the camera around the glass.
03:20But either way, it's a subtle little thing that won't really bother you.
03:24But it does inform you of where the camera is in the screen.
03:28And it tells you where to look.
03:29So that, whether or not is intended, can be pretty useful.
03:33The video sample of the Redmi Note 10 Pro.
03:36I'm shooting with that selfie cam.
03:38This can shoot in 1080p 30fps.
03:41And there is a beauty mode.
03:43So this is maximum.
03:44Now, again, my thing with beauty filters is less is more.
03:48This is now at level 15.
03:50You are doing a hundred.
03:52So less is more.
03:53And use it just like makeup to enhance the real you.
03:56Never be ashamed of your imperfections.
03:58But the beauty mode does give you a little oomph.
04:01Anyway, this camera can also do the movie frame mode.
04:06Which sort of gives you a more cinematic feel.
04:08Except most social media is shot this way.
04:12And, you know, this mode is supposed to be this way.
04:16Now, take note though that when you do use the beauty mode and the movie frame mode.
04:20It does downgrade to 720p.
04:22Which is okay for social media use.
04:25There doesn't seem to be a dedicated video portrait mode.
04:28So that you can shoot with a bokeh using the front-facing camera.
04:32Neither is there a dedicated steady mode.
04:34And this is what walking and talking using the front-facing camera looks like.
04:39Now, what I love about Xiaomi phones is how amazingly feature-rich their apps are.
04:45Even without installing anything.
04:47So let's say this is just the video that I just shot.
04:50I can actually edit it.
04:51So I can crop.
04:54I can add filters.
04:56And that gives you a number of choices.
05:00You can even change intensity.
05:02Oh, I don't know what that is.
05:03But it's a vignette.
05:05Okay, you can add captions.
05:07So as you can see, it gives you that little text.
05:13And you can change the text that's on there.
05:16So it's a cool little way to add effects to your video.
05:19And there are available soundtracks.
05:22So that means you can add music to your video.
05:24Unfortunately, you can't really switch around levels.
05:27So videos can sound like this.
05:32But yeah, all things considered.
05:33These are very comprehensive editing tools built-in.
05:37So obviously, this phone can do fire selfies.
05:40I know because I've posted some selfies I took on this phone on Instagram.
05:45As opposed to the rear cams where the beauty mode is just a toggle.
05:48When you use a selfie cam for photos, there's a more comprehensive beauty mode.
05:53There are a number of things you can do here.
05:55But I usually just do a little bit of smoothing.
05:59And yes, a little goes a long way.
06:00Here are some samples side by side.
06:03Beauty mode and no beauty mode.
06:11And there's also a selfie portrait mode, of course,
06:17where you can toggle between an aperture of 1 to 16.
06:211 being the most blurred and 16, of course, being not really blurred.
06:26The portrait mode almost always got me right.
06:28Although it's not perfect, no portrait modes are at this point.
06:33There's also that movie frame mode, which is basically a more dramatic portrait mode.
06:38But again, it is horizontal, which doesn't fit with, you know, social media posting.
06:43Now on portrait mode, there are these new cool lighting effects
06:48that sort of add a little fun flair to whatever selfies you take.
06:53I did some samples on my unboxing and camera tour video.
06:57So you can check it out.
06:57I'll link it up here and down below.
06:59And yes, this also works on rear cameras.
07:02Also on this phone that makes it so conducive to remote selfies or just selfie OOTDs.
07:08When you press this, you can set timer real quick or my favorite feature, the palm shutter.
07:14So now you can take awesome selfies just like that.
07:22Finally, also built-in on this phone and just like for videos, you can edit photos.
07:28And there are a lot of things you can do here.
07:30So there is a built-in beauty mode.
07:32There is crop settings.
07:34You can add oh, so many different filters.
07:37There are also a number of really cute stickers like, okay, no, I don't need anyone's help.
07:43But yeah, there are a lot of things you can do here.
07:47Okay, no, I don't need anyone's help.
07:50But yeah, you know what I mean?
07:53There are doodle options.
07:55You can add text if you don't want to doodle.
07:57Then there's this mosaic feature, which is great for if you want to blur things out.
08:02But do it a little classier and or if you want to sprinkle some cute design around your photo.
08:09What's really cool is this erase tool, which is basically the healing brush tool in Photoshop.
08:15If you know what I mean.
08:16If you don't, basically, this thing can sort of erase stuff in the background
08:20by copying like the surrounding stuff.
08:24So as you can see here, I sort of erased that clutter behind me.
08:27I mean, it's not perfect, but it looks good.
08:30And I did it all on my phone, at least for this photo in like a minute.
08:35And finally, there's this sky feature, which allows you to take any photo which shows the sky
08:41and then change the sky.
08:44So it's pretty cool because it gives you a different feel or a different scene for the same photo.
08:50It even allows you to animate it.
08:52Like, for example, now it's raining or this time around it's snowing.
08:59It's pretty cool and actually one of my favorite features on Xiaomi phones.
09:03Although there are times that it doesn't do it perfectly.
09:07Like the cutouts are weird, so it sort of doesn't work.
09:12But all in all, when it does work, it really looks good.
09:15And there are so many IG or social media post options here.
09:22I won't be talking about the rear cameras too much.
09:25After all, if you want to see how it shoots, I did put up a camera vlog test using this phone.
09:29I'll link it up here and down below.
09:31Some quick things you need to know though.
09:33One, there is a dedicated steady mode on the rear cameras.
09:36Again, which is always good for walking and talking.
09:38It goes from wide to 6x, so you have camera versatility.
09:43It also can shoot in 4k, although that is honestly very rarely useful
09:48when it comes to posting videos on social media.
09:50Because most platforms just downgrade anyway.
09:54And finally, you have the same video editing capabilities
09:57that we looked at earlier on with the selfie video.
10:01Let's start with modes that actually are made for social media.
10:05So first, we have the short video mode.
10:07This thing allows you to do wide 1x up until, well, 6x.
10:13And here, when you record, you only shoot 15 second clips.
10:19And these clips from here, you can send directly to your social media feed.
10:24So depending on what social media accounts you have, it will show up here.
10:29But that's not all.
10:30This mode allows you to do different speed settings.
10:34You have different filters, beauty filters.
10:37The kaleidoscope mode, which is pretty fun.
10:41And then here, you can change the length.
10:44So we have 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds, or 90 seconds.
10:48And then you have the option to add background music.
10:50So here it is.
10:52Preset.
10:52You don't need to download anything.
10:53It's just here.
10:54You can use these.
10:55So yeah, the short video mode is Xiaomi's response to Android phones
10:59not being optimized for social media use.
11:02As we all know, the answer to that is really
11:05shooting on your Android on the camera app.
11:08So what they did was they specifically built this mode
11:12so that you can shoot with your camera app
11:15and then forward to your social media just like that.
11:20Moving on to other cool features here.
11:22There is a vlog mode, which basically allows for pre-set vlog templates like these.
11:29And as you can see, these look very cinematic.
11:31And then after you pick a template, you just need to shoot the clips.
11:34And then it does everything for you.
11:36So here are some examples that I shot like without even a minute.
11:40Just in my room.
12:04I mean, you gotta admit those were impressive clips
12:15considering that they needed no effort to make.
12:18But yeah, the main problem with this is that it is all in landscape
12:22and you can't really change orientation, which again is a no-no in social media.
12:27Next up is the clone mode, which is what you're seeing right now.
12:30And yes, folks, I did this all on my phone.
12:33Other people thought I did some crazy editing, but nope.
12:38Lol, yeah, this is how I shoot with a tripod and then facing a mirror
12:43so that it sort of detects that there's a person on there.
12:47So basically, it can get complicated if you're shooting by yourself.
12:51This is best done with an Instagram boyfriend or something.
12:57Yep.
12:58And yeah, despite the many clips I took of that,
13:01it's pretty cool once you get it done.
13:03Although, like I said, I don't think this is a solo act.
13:06And again, it's all on landscape.
13:08Last but not the least, there is a long exposure mode.
13:11So basically, it's night mode,
13:12but it's set up to take the best photos of certain situations.
13:17So I can imagine this being super useful like light streaks
13:21or like when you're out camping.
13:24I mean, what else could be more Instagrammable?
13:27Literally, these hard shots, but made capable by your phone.
13:32Now, I'm not gonna try this because again,
13:36staying at home, quarantine and all.
13:38So yeah, know that it's there though.
13:40And again, pretty cool.
13:43And that was it for our social media test on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro.
13:48I do these videos because I noticed that a lot of people talk about
13:51shooting with your phones,
13:53but never about shooting with your phones for social media,
13:57which is what a lot of people use them for these days.
14:00So I'm curious what you think about this video.
14:03If you wanna see more social media tests in the future,
14:06also let me know what you think about this phone.
14:08If you wanna see how I use my tech on a daily basis,
14:11find me online.
14:12That's isa.does underscore on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok.
14:15And I post updates on the stuff I test out
14:18and answer questions on my TikTok account.
14:20So I'll see you there, guys.
14:21Until next time.
