00:00Two children aged 6 and 10 were hostaged by three prisoners in Davao del Sur.
00:05They were rescued by Kenta Abregana of GMA Regional TV.
00:15The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Digo City in Davao del Sur
00:20was overwhelmed yesterday by three BDLs with sharp knives.
00:24The victims were two minors visiting their relatives.
00:28The suspects demanded that Davao del Sur be released
00:32in exchange for their release.
00:37After almost two hours,
00:39the gate was opened and the car of the BJMP was released.
00:42The three suspects and two minors were in the car.
00:45But when they were released,
00:47the authorities entered the van.
00:50The two children were successfully rescued.
00:53The three BDLs were arrested.
00:56There were minors who were visited by the BJMP inside.
01:02The three BDLs also had knives.
01:06What happened was that they took the three BDLs
01:10and they were immediately taken to the house of the BJMP.
01:14Luckily, the ten-year-old boy was not injured.
01:18But his companion found out that the six-year-old boy was a girl.
01:22They took him to the hospital because of a wound on his neck.
01:25He was also injured by a jail officer.
01:28According to the BJMP,
01:29the three suspects were charged with murder and frustrated murder.
01:33Now, the BJMP is arranging for additional cases to be filed against the suspects.
