01:14Community safety is paramount, so there's a reason that there's a licensing process for weapons
01:20and that only approved people who have gone through that licensing process are authorised to possess those weapons.
01:27Asking is for all those people who are currently licensed to store and have weapons
01:33is to make sure that they're being stored in a correct manner.
01:36What this means is that they've got an approved safe,
01:39that within that safe the ammunition and the bolt of those weapons are stored independently and correctly
01:46and making sure, most importantly, that the key to that safe is not stored in a place
01:52where it's going to be easily accessible by people who maybe, and unfortunately, break into your house.
01:58We've seen in a number of instances where people become a little bit lax with the storage of their key
02:03and have it in a space near their gun safe and easily accessible to people who are breaking.
02:09The other important point I want to make is to get to know your neighbours.
02:13If you're going away on holidays, let your neighbours know
02:16so that they can report if there's anyone snooping around your property
02:19and hopefully we can avoid breaking into your house.
