00:00Welcome back to C2's channel. One question we hear a lot is what's the difference between PVC pipe and PVC conduit, and can we use PVC conduit in place of PVC pipe. The answer is no. Let's dive into why.
00:16PVC pipes are designed primarily for pumping systems. They are pressure tested to handle the pressure of water and other fluids. PVC conduits, on the other hand, are used to protect electrical wiring. They are not pressure tested, but are designed to safeguard wires from physical damage.
00:32One key difference is the wall thickness. Both PVC pipe and PVC conduit have schedule 40 series. If we compare them at the same dimensions, we can find that schedule 40 PVC pipe has a thicker wall than schedule 40 PVC conduit.
00:47Additionally, PVC pipes have lower UV resistance, making them more suitable for indoor or underground use. However, PVC conduits sometimes require enhanced UV resistance, especially when used in outdoor environments.
01:02Another difference is flame retardancy. PVC conduit is designed with flame retardant properties to meet electrical safety standards, helping prevent fire spread. In contrast, PVC pipe typically lacks this feature.
01:16Although PVC pipes and conduits share the same material, their distinct designs and applications mean they are not interchangeable. Citroën offers PVC conduits that comply with ESNZS 2053 standards, as well as CSA and EL certifications.
01:32Our conduit features excellent impact and corrosion resistance. We also provide special products in our solar and low-smoke hydrogen fluid series, available in various types such as schedule 40, schedule 80, and DB2.
01:46That's all we share today. Thank you for watching. If you are interested in our products, follow our channel or contact us.
