00:00After losing the boat during an accident, an unconscious Jen washes ashore on an island.
00:05When she wakes up, she sees her friend Brad nearby and runs to check on him, only to discover
00:09he's got a large piece of coral sticking out of his stomach.
00:12She yells for help but nobody answers, so after taking the flare gun from his vest,
00:16she drags Brad away from the shore.
00:18She removes the coral to then cover the wound with some fabric yet Brad's only response
00:21is asking did you see it?
00:23Jen thinks he needs some water so she runs into the jungle to find a coconut and breaks
00:26it with a rock.
00:27Unfortunately by the time she returns, Brad is already dead.
00:31Afterward Jen explores the island but walking down the beach just makes her do a full circle
00:35until she's back where she started.
00:37Then she explores the jungle and finds a bunch of stuff that's been there for a while judging
00:40by its condition.
00:41Jen yells for help again but nobody answers, so she searches the bag and finds some medicine.
00:46Next she checks the cooler and finds some sealed soda bottles.
00:49There are more objects under some leaves like a little metal box in which Jen finds matches,
00:53some sailcloth, and a bag with toys.
00:56Suddenly Jen hears a weird noise and goes looking for the source.
00:59It's coming from a hollow tree and when she looks inside, she's startled by a bird flying
01:03out.
01:04Then Jen covers Brad's body with some big leaves.
01:06Noticing the sun setting, she looks for a spot to spend the night right before it starts
01:10raining.
01:11She covers herself with the sailcloth and leaves some things out to collect water.
01:15The following morning Jen finds tons of dead fish on the shore and begins collecting them
01:18in a bag.
01:19She's also shocked to find a dead shark with nasty gashes on its body.
01:23Jen uses rocks to cut all the heads off and keeps the fish in the cooler for later consumption.
01:27While looking through another bag, she finds a notebook and tries to read it, but the water
01:31has erased all the text.
01:33Among the pages there's a picture of a couple that makes her feel extra lonely.
01:36The next time Jen explores the island, she finds some piles of rocks and a cross-shaped
01:40branch, which makes her realize those are graves.
01:43This inspires her to dig a hole in the sand and throw Brad's rotting body in it to then
01:46cover it with leaves and sand, finishing the grave with a piece of wood with Brad's initial.
01:51That night Jen hangs the sailcloth, which has gashes that match the shark, and starts
01:54a fire with the matches to cook the fish.
01:57In the morning, Jen is horrified to discover Brad's body is missing and the grave is full
02:00of blood.
02:02Realizing there's something dangerous out there, she uses a rock on a branch to make a spear.
02:06She also brings a log to use as support so she can spend the evening sitting with her
02:09eyes on the jungle.
02:11Eventually Jen falls asleep and is woken up in the middle of the night by a strange noise.
02:15However, she can't see anything among the trees and assumes it was the fire.
02:18The next day Jen notices some items floating nearby and gets in the water to retrieve them.
02:23Before swimming back, she dives to check if there's anything else and she's shocked to
02:26see a mysterious hole in the ocean's floor.
02:29She doesn't dare to go closer and returns to the shore with her new things.
02:32Inside a suitcase she finds a bunch of clothes and changes into something warmer.
02:36That night Jen checks the box again and discovers pictures of the dead owners.
02:40Suddenly she hears a plane fly by so she immediately runs to the shore to shoot a flare, but unfortunately
02:44the plane doesn't see it.
02:46As the flare falls into the sea, it reveals the silhouette of a strange tall monster.
02:50A terrified Jen hurries back to grab her spear and runs to hide in the jungle.
02:54Soon the monster steps on the island and searches among the bushes, but it doesn't see Jen and
02:58leaves without attacking.
02:59The following morning Jen notices the monster made a mess out of her camp.
03:03When she picks up the old pictures, she discovers the monster's eyes in the background.
03:07Desperate to escape, Jen puts brads and her life vests inside the suitcase, then she takes
03:11it to the water.
03:12She intends to use it as a raft but the suitcase isn't stable enough to support her weight
03:16and Jen throws it back on the sand with lots of frustration.
03:19Before the sun sets, Jen hides inside the hollow tree to sleep safely.
03:23Later in the middle of the night, she's woken up by the noises of the monster arriving to
03:27the island.
03:28It grabs her log to begin rolling it and pounding on it, so Jen has to concentrate not to make
03:32any noise and protect her head.
03:34After lots of shaking and growling, the monster gets bored and finally leaves.
03:38Days pass with Jen surviving during the day by fishing and during the night by hiding
03:41in a hole.
03:42After some practicing, she finally manages to kill a small shark with her spear.
03:46She hangs it on a tree before falling asleep in the hole, but she still hears the noise
03:50of the monster taking the shark away.
03:52Sometime later, the waves drop another body on the shore.
03:55When Jen checks on it, she discovers severe face wounds caused by the monster, not to
03:59mention it's missing the legs.
04:01She hangs it on the tree and hides in her hole, but this time she stays awake to watch
04:05the monster arrive.
04:06It quickly brings the body down and starts feeding on it.
04:09At that moment Jen hears a plane fly by and gasps, but she can't come out because the
04:13monster is walking near her hole.
04:15When it fails to find her it goes back to the ocean, but unfortunately the plane is
04:18already gone.
04:19The next day Jen uses the sailcloth, some belts, and rope to make a hammock that she
04:23hangs high on the trees.
04:25Now she can have a better view of the area from above and stay out of the monster's reach.
04:29That night, Jen is comfortable in the hammock when she notices the monster walking among
04:32the bushes.
04:34Suddenly it starts pulling at the ropes to bring down the hammock, causing Jen to scream
04:37and struggle in the sailcloth until she falls off.
04:40She immediately starts running away as the monster chases her, jumping in and out of
04:43the water to move faster by swimming.
04:46Eventually it lands in front of her and a terrified Jen stabs it with her spear, only
04:49for the beast to throw her on the sand.
04:51Then it hits her again and she lands in the water, but before the beast can kill her,
04:55a sudden thunderclap scares it away.
04:57Jen decides to climb on a tree and sleep there under the rain, even if it's a very uncomfortable
05:01position.
05:02In the morning, Jen checks her leg and finds a nasty wound.
05:05While she washes and changes clothes, she sees a life raft floating nearby and immediately
05:09jumps in the water to reach it.
05:11There are two people inside, her boyfriend Lucas and Brad's girlfriend Mia.
05:15Jen helps them reach the shore and the couple reunites with a tight hug.
05:19Then Jen shares her fish and the sodas while trying to tell her friends about the monster,
05:22insisting they should use the raft to leave.
05:24She even shows them the picture and tells them about Brad's death, however Lucas and
05:28Mia don't believe her.
05:29They think she's been seeing things and they refuse to get back on the raft because the
05:32isolation almost drove them mad.
05:35Afterward Jen announces she'll get more food and borrows Lucas' Swiss knife.
05:38When she opens it to clean the fish, she notices blood on the blade and gets suspicious.
05:42She tries to convince her friends to leave again and an argument ensues that ends with
05:46Lucas yelling at her.
05:47Later while Lucas and Mia are distracted, Jen gathers her things and puts them in the
05:51raft before pushing it to the ocean to escape.
05:54However her friends see her and run to stop her.
05:56Lucas grabs Jen and in the struggle, she kicks Mia in the face.
05:59Furious, Mia retaliates by knocking Jen out with an oar.
06:03It's night time by the time she wakes up and she's horrified to discover her friends
06:06have tied her to a tree.
06:08They refuse to untie her when she asks, and Mia leaves to give the couple some privacy.
06:12Lucas begins complaining about Jen's attitude, mentioning how he had been having fun in the
06:16boat with his friends yet she wasn't happy and even threatened to break up with him.
06:20Jen thinks this isn't the right moment to discuss their relationship but Lucas keeps
06:23going, yelling about how Jen has no home, no money, and no life without him.
06:27He thinks she had no right to try to abandon him on the island after everything he did
06:31for her.
06:32As Jen insists on leaving and talking later, Lucas points out she's sounding too much like
06:36his friend Zach, but he doesn't say what happened to him.
06:39Meanwhile Mia is walking on the shore and notices some fish pieces in the water.
06:43Suddenly Lucas and Jen hear Mia scream, so Lucas grabs a torch and runs to help her.
06:47He finds the monster killing Mia and hits it with the torch, only for the beast to push
06:51him away.
06:52Then it jumps into the sea and takes Mia with it.
06:54By the time Jen finally cuts the ropes off, it's too late, there's only blood left in
06:58the water.
06:59The next morning Lucas finally agrees to leave in the raft with Jen.
07:02They work together to get a bunch of fish and cook them all with a fire made from the
07:05last match, this way they can bring provisions to the trip.
07:09Afterward they put all their things in the raft and take off at last.
07:12Inside the raft, Jen is surprised to see multiple bloodstains.
07:15As Lucas starts to row, he suddenly sees the creature swimming under them.
07:19Its claws reach out to attack Lucas, who immediately hides inside the raft and Jen closes it up.
07:24However the monster doesn't give up and starts scratching the bottom of the raft.
07:28After a few hits that make the whole structure shake, the monster punches a hole and pokes
07:31its head in.
07:32Jen immediately kicks it and Lucas starts shooting the flare gun.
07:36The first time he misses, but the second flare lands in the beast's mouth.
07:39The duo then uses the chance to push it back into the water with the spear.
07:43For a second they think they're safe, however the creature reaches through the raft base
07:46again and drags Jen underwater, intending to take her to his hold.
07:50While she struggles against its hold, Jen remembers Lucas' dagger and uses it to stab
07:53the beast, who lets go of her and swims away.
07:56At that moment it sees Lucas jumping in the water to rescue Jen and quickly swims towards
08:00him, grabbing him at the last second to then drag him into the hole.
08:03After yelling in grief, Jen swims back to the shore and notices the fire they supposedly
08:07put off still has a little spark left.
08:10Jen runs to work on rekindling it until proper flames appear again.
08:13Afterward she grabs the notebook and writes a letter explaining what's happening in case
08:16she dies and someone finds her.
08:18Jen has a plan in mind which includes making a bunch of spears, gathering wood and leaves,
08:22and digging holes in the sand.
08:24This causes her to find a skeleton, so she decides to use the bones for her plan as well.
08:29When night falls the monster comes out of the water and starts wandering through the
08:31jungle, following the smell of fish.
08:34Once the beast reaches the bait, Jen lights a bunch of pyres on fire to trap the monster
08:38in the middle.
08:39Then she surprises the creature with her spear, stabbing it once before running to hide behind
08:43a tree.
08:44The monster goes looking for her and Jen waits to have its back on her so she can stab it
08:47with a bone, only to quickly be knocked down.
08:50She doesn't give up and immediately stabs the monster again, so this time it hits her
08:53hard enough to send her flying.
08:55Noticing that the beast is bleeding and in pain, Jen decides to keep on fighting.
08:59She stabs it over and over again with any piece of bone she can find, sometimes getting
09:03hit in the process.
09:04The creature pushes Jen down on the sand and she stabs its arm to free herself.
09:08Then it grabs her legs and pulls her closer to pick her up by her face, ready to finish
09:12her.
09:13Jen takes out one last piece of bone and repeatedly stabs the wound she left earlier to force
09:17the monster to drop her.
09:18It hits her with its claws one more time, however the pain is too much and it can barely
09:22move anymore.
09:24Jen uses the chance to run back to the beach and grab more spears.
09:27Soon the monster catches up to her, but after roaring very loudly it collapses on the sand.
09:31Since it's still breathing Jen stabs it with the spear until it's finally dead for good.
09:35Then she takes a piece of its very hard shell and uses it to cut the monster's head off.
09:40With the head as proof of what happened, Jen begins making her way to the raft while the
09:43jungle burns behind her.
