00:00President, what are the urgent issues on the carpet?
00:08The most urgent issues for us as an industry are to find a balance between the economic security that is needed,
00:17not to depend too much on China, but also to leave the markets open.
00:23We are not for an excessive protectionism that closes the markets.
00:27We want a big exporting country and too much protectionism would threaten our businesses.
00:31The second issue is the energy transition.
00:34We are in favor of the energy transition, but not as it is done in Europe.
00:37Let's think about the car, which I know is very important here.
00:40The issue must be rethought, that since 2035 only electric cars will be sold, and this is not good.
00:46We are for technological neutrality.
00:48The third issue that is very important for us is artificial intelligence.
00:52It is true that there are risks, it is true that regulation is needed,
00:55but we must also take the opportunities that artificial intelligence can bring.
01:00Today we are talking about cooperation.
01:02It is also important that the countries of the G7 take care of the countries that are in a worse situation.
01:07Here too, businesses want to be an important part through joint ventures,
01:11through things to help businesses in developing countries, in particular in Africa.
