Striking employees discuss Boeing offer ahead of vote   About 33,000 workers will vote on the contract proposal on Wednesday, October 23, after a more than month-long work stoppage, which has halted production of models including its best-selling 737 MAX narrowbody jets.   The new contract proposal announced on Saturday includes a 35 percent pay hike over four years, a $7,000 ratification bonus, a reinstated incentive plan and enhanced contributions to workers' 401(k) retirement plans, including a one-time $5,000 contribution plus up to 12 percent in employer contributions.   Workers picketing on Monday, October 21, near Boeing's 737 factory outside Seattle were pessimistic about the proposal passing on.   The new wage increase and the ratification bonus are an improvement over the previous offer, which was rebuffed by the striking workers, but the salary hikes still fall short of a 40 percent pay rise over four years demanded by the Machinists' union. 00:36contract but i think it's it's not what we asked for and i feel like the contract it's not gonna

00:43push the company forward uh to for longevity in the long run um there's a lot of new hires that

00:50are struggling uh there's even i just feel like boeing in this economy could do a lot better

00:59um with all the money that we've made for them over the years we call them at work

01:04i want to see i want to be here until i retire but i don't know if that's going to happen

01:22i've seen other jobs elsewhere that make way more starting off

01:26um minimum wage here is about to be raised next year and

01:33boeing is just giving us the bare minimum for new hires

01:57so i have seen the new contract it's it's looking better but it's you know it's not

02:06quite there um i'm kind of if it passes i'm okay but i don't think it's gonna pass but

02:18i think if they came with that in the beginning there never would have been a strike

02:22but they're gonna have to do a little better i think they're close

02:39you know and they made it sound at first i was like yes they're giving the pension back i don't

02:43even need to see the rest you know and uh but no so we'll i imagine we'll have a very high

02:49percentage on turning this down probably like 90 i bet

03:03so we just have stayed stagnant for like 10 years and just become less and less and less

03:09while the world costs twice as much so it's it's not that we don't have more than a lot of other

03:15people it's all those people should be striking too you know we all need more everybody goes to

03:20the grocery store and sees what things cost right so that's what we're fighting for we just want to
