00:07Valeo in northwestern France, a symbol of the 300 employees at risk of losing their
00:14jobs.
00:23Since Monday night, the workers at this plant that produces battery cooling systems for
00:27electric vehicles are on strike. Two other factories nationwide are also on the brink
00:32of shutting down. It's a constant source of stress and anxiety for the employees.
00:58Following car sales, companies like Valeo searching for cheaper labor abroad and the
01:04EU Commission's goal to switch to all electric vehicles by 2035 are all causing a crisis
01:11within the car industry across Europe. Many workers at the Valeo plant even wonder whether
01:16the car industry has a future in Europe.
01:28That is the question.
01:32Euronews reached out to Valeo but the company refused to answer any of our questions. The
01:37fate of the three plants should be decided by mid-December.
